Eibach pro lift kit

I also ride 285. 285/65/18. I rode perfect for a few weeks until I had multiple people in the car. I had two people in my truck today, totaling maybe 300lbs extra from my 170. I rubbed on full turns, guessing it’s the cab mount.

 

Well glad you were able to avert a disaster.
The ride on first notch is also near stock on pavement. No complaints at all. But my original plan was to set at second notch. However the loaner spring compressor I got didn’t fit right and started to bend so I gave up and left the springs on first notch. Is there a trick or.....?

 

If there's a trick, i'd sure love to know lol... The ones you get from harbor freight work great, but once the springs are compressed and released onto the shock, there is no room for them to exit. I had to reinsert the rod and pry them out. No big deal...Until you have to recompress the springs for dumb reasons like installing the collars upside down. I had to go to CarQuest and buy theirs, they have hooks instead of large blocks. I compressed about 70% where I needed to be and the carquest set began to strip themselves. Metal squiggles all over the workspace. Easiest thing to do would be to find a shop that will swap them for you. If you can't find one, like me, you may end up needing two sets of compressors.

 

Also you mention bending on the compressor. Towards full compression there was quite a bit of bending. Just make sure you do them at an even pace. 2 turns left side 2 turns right side. I noticed if I started getting uneven thats when the obvious bends showed up. I also wore my catchers mask during the compressing. I don't know how much that would help taking a giant spring to the face, but it made me feel better

 

Thanks for the advice. I bought several new tools to install my lift but I can use them for other projects. Spring compressors not so much. I’ll find a shop and just get it over with.

 

Anyone know the max tire size to run on the eibach kit. I've got the kit with OME HD springs for the rear currently running 265 70 16 and was wondering what I can run without having to regear the rear.

 

I just went up to 285/75r16 with a couple hundred pounds when camping and do just fine. Stock UCAs and no CMC yet.

 

Well after some more research, I have a few more things I am going to do while I am at it. If anyone would like to chime in on whether they are needed or if you have done the install of these and have tips, it would be appreciated

I have also heard extended brake lines for the rear but not sure if that is needed (or if the clamshell / drop kit bearing are too)

I run 275’s and think it’s perfect. I’d still like a regear but it’s not at all needed.

 

I have OME Dakar HD springs in the rear with carrier bearing drop kit extended brake lines will be a must in case of maximum droop. And drive line bolts for vibration correction. That should get you squared away pretty good. I got everything from wheelers offroad and they are phenomenal with customer service and will help answer any questions you might have if I haven't answered all.

 

Does anyone have a lead on a IN STOCK kit? Still seems like production and supply is very limited.

I have been told the 3rd gen kit is the same as the 2nd gen kit just .5-.75” taller

 

Look into tacoma beast that's where I got mine from they keep them in stock
