Does anyone make a larger gas tank or auxiliary gas tank for 2021 Off Road Tacomas?

Seem kind of high considering you can get a factory tank for around $500

Says it won’t fit ‘21+ long bed because of a Toyota design change. Now I want to know what they changed. LOL

I’ve seen a factory gas tank on Craigslist for free in the past. Thought about getting it just for the heck of it but storage was an issue so I passed.

Darn I missed the part of not for gas. Someone needs to make a carbon fiber one for gas.

Just sent an email to the company and shockingly got a response fairly quickly - on a Sunday no less.

I asked what the ramifications would be of using these for fuel even if they’re not rated for that and here is the response I got:

There is a misconception that these are “not rated” for fuel. In actuality, there is no adverse affect on the product if exposed to fuel. The fact of it is that they are “notapproved”for fuel storage by the EPA. Major difference.

Will be ordering ASAP. I’ll Start out with one and see how it goes

There’s a reason why gas tanks are mounted in front of the rear axle, especially since the spare tire area is part of the rear crumple zone :bananadead:

It is more likely not approved for gas storage by the National Transportation Safety Administration. Just saying there’s a reason why gas tanks are mounted in front of the rear axle, especially since the spare tire area is part of the rear crumple zone :bananadead:

Well in my case I have about 1000 extra pounds with full RCI steel armor, front and rear bumpers, winch, diamondback etc. and I am already regeared to 4.88s. I’m sure I’ve already compromised the crumple zones, so I may just roll with it

That’s cool, I was just pointing out the issue. Mine has all steel armor too including the tank and rear diff, but I still keep my extra fuel forward of the rear axle. It just took seeing and hearing what a rear ender fire does to people first hand from a guy who was the only survivor of one as a kid that took out his siblings to change my mind. I don’t even keep jerry cans mounted on the rear end anymore either. One may be the best driver out there but everyone else drives like crap.

One other thing to consider, how does the gas get from it to the tank and what does that entail?

here’s another option to consider, it may be safer and makes fuel transfer a lot easier:

If I didn't already have swing cases installed I'd put in those tanks. Heck I might just pull one case and install one of the tanks.

Never mind, they don't make them for Tacomas.

The Titan tank will fit according to their customer support, you have to put the filler towards the tailgate.
