Today, the local paper published the service photos sent in by family of those that gave their lives. Quite moving...

    Good Morning :oldglory:

Thank you to the men and women who gave there lives so that we can enjoy our freedoms.
May God bless you and your families.

    Sorry for your loss.
Thoughts and prayers for you and your wife.

We my dad died, my mom had us 6 over the day after the funeral. We took took what we wanted, tools and guns. No debating over who got what. This went smooth. When mom died things went smooth. Except, my brother wanted to handle things without a lawyer. I tried telling him that we were moving too fast and we needed a lawyer. Thats when got rough. After he found out we did need lawyer thing went smooth. My brother was also under a lot of stress. What I didn't know at the time was that he and his wife filled for divorce 2 days before mom died.

Good Morning. I’ve been enjoying all the kids and grandkids and grand puppies over the past several days. It has been gloriously chaotic...Oldest granddaughter just moved to Missouri. Put her on a plane yesterday. Son has business at the Air Force base starting tomorrow. He is preparing for a PACAF exercise. Life is busy but will take the day to remember.

Long family history of those who served. From my father in law and his brothers and great uncles on my dad’s side of the family in WWII who worked on or flew B-17’s while stationed in England and Africa. Watching planes return from missions riddled with bullet holes and dripping with the blood. Or my father and uncle who served in Korea and lost an untold number of friends who were fighting right next to them. Or the uncle whose helicopter was shot down multiple times while serving as an aerial mapmaker in Vietnam. Later would come my nephews and young men from my youth group who served in the Army and the Marines in Iraq. Now my own son in the Air Force who has committed his life in service of his country. We have been blessed in that all of them came home. Yet most of them were never quite the same. So many untold stories, and tears shed in private, or moments of silent reflection concealing feelings to deep to bare. So in memory of those who gave their lives and those who gave part of their soul, I say Thank You for your sacrifice. My I never take my freedom for granted!!! Stay Well...Stay Safe

Sorry for your loss.. I went through a similar situation when my mom passed. My oldest brother helped my mom sell a property that she had in Mexico only to steal 90% of the proceeds about 150K then he never visited her again - this was several years before she passed away. Then when mom was in and out of the hospital towards the end the 2nd oldest brother borrowed 7K to buy a vintage truck. He paid me back the money he borrowed the day she passed away, then a week later the same day as the funeral he essentially asked for it back claiming that anything left after funeral expenses should be his inheritance. My plan was to donate any leftover funds to her church but it was a small price to pay to get a piece of shit out of my life.
