Lost a couple of small branches, like 3 ft long off a few trees, other than that just a lot of rain. 2.5" in the gauge.

You too buddy, I love the masterbuilt by the way. I have been a gravity feed fan for a long time!

First “mod” for the GX came in

Getting her set up to drag the Winnie, airlift 1000’s are on the way in hopes of not running a WD hitch for ground clearance reasons.

Second cook! Been on since 8, just hitting 163, then I'm going to wrap in paper for the duration. I just now had to refill the hopper, which is about the same 6 hours I got on the ribs. Wasn't bad, but you sure can't look down in there! So, now I know!

yeah, it got pretty busy around here for a while lol. You’ve got a good plan, it should be great!

this old girl here was one of the very first in Texas on the competition trail, she won me a lot of money. D9DDBE62-5F51-4787-88FD-53A8BEE116A7.jpg

I just got it back and I’m going to do a good resto job the return her to her glory. It’s still my go to cooker, it serves as the smokehouse for sausage and bacon making as well.

They had a write up in Pop Mech or Family Handyman, and it gave some history. Guys like you were the only ones who had such things until just recently! I'm loving it so far (but 12+ hours of fuel per load is a stretchy); other than filling the hopper this time - NO fire maintenance. Got briquettes and apple chunk in there. I'm a happy guy! Haven't done a brisket in years!

Well, it was close...... tender enough, probably could have left the temp up instead of dialing down, but I was worried about too much cook once I got to 195 and had 4 hours to go! Should have left it.... Decent bark and very tender, mediocre smoke ring. Considering it's been over a decade since I actually smoked one, I'll say OK, and we'll eat all the leftovers! I cut off the very end of the flat, and tried some burnt ends for fun. Well, everyone had a couple!
