Nice, I was running those wheels for a while. Its the AT Overland combo slide with the Partner JK stove they make to fit it perfectly. For now Im going to run my cooler on the slide but eventually Ill get a fridge. I also got an AT 5lb propane bottle mount so I can actually put jerry cans in my jerry can holder and still have the propane outside the truck.

They are still in great shape too!.. I'm sorry for the inevitable damage they will receive. I'll be 8lb heavier per corner going from 33's to 35's with this set-up.

And awesome! Good to know.. and local! Where does the propane mount.. mount? I'm going to have the same dilemma.

I was gonna hit up that Estrella mountain trail that @BillW pointed out but it looks like there is a gate... more like a string of barbed wire tied to a fence post but a gate nonetheless. I was always told "never open gates" but the sign on street view doesn't say anything about private property, just "Keep Gate Closed"

Soooo... is it legit to just move it out of the way to go up that trail as long as you close it behind you? I didn't go because I didn't want to just push things out of the way without asking first.

In the meantime I had some time for a very brief run out to Casa Grande to visit a few of the satellite targets. Even bone stock this thing is an absolute beast. Encountered an obstacle I did legitimately have to engage 4x4 for, and ran into another really gnarly deep wash that I said "discretion is the better part of valor" to considering I had nothing but stock skids. I took a soil sample with the tow hitch on departure of the 4x4 needed obstacle (and bonked the exhaust I think) but nothing got pinstriped or bent.

Got pictures with a few of the calibration targets:

And AG49 which was actually sort of a challenge to get to:

Was the fence about a mile or so in? It's just a cattle fence so that's why it says keep gate closed, but I understand swaying to the side of caution.

Oh wait, did you buy my old ones from the guy I sold them to? Ha. The propane mount is a bit of a DIY. Currently brainstorming where to mount it. Im thinking off the side or bottom of the jerry can holder.

yessir. I bought his 35's a while ago and have been sitting on them trying to figure out wheels. I remembered he had these at the time I met him, and I knew he was going to new wheels soon too.. so I reached out and asked if he'd be interested in selling. It worked out nicely.

You're definitely limiting yourself by avoiding gated routes...most are just there for cattle control, and the general rule is "leave it like you found it". Recommend getting a mapping app that shows land ownership (like Gaia, etc) to know for sure. Private property gates are almost always marked and/or locked. Also good to know whether you're on BLM, NFS, or State Land...the latter needs a permit in most cases.

BLM and NFS have lots of cattle gates. Now, State Trust land. Have ran into quite a few Private Property gates or entrances. Those steer clear. Good chance to get shot if you try to go past em.

No worries man, I ended up having plenty of fun today regardless and now that I know that the "gate" is a non issue we're all good for some other time. :)

Yup. Pretty much if a gate doesn't have a lock, you can go through it. Just close it after. If it's locked or clearly marked Private Property, then don't try going through.

Too much work. Just take the fender off. Or have your front tire do it for you when the lug nuts decide to spin themselves off!
