Can confirm, Dakar makes leaf packs for 1st Gens and it should have came with a fob, not the convenient key/fob combo but mine has a separate one from the key. Looking forward to the build thread!

Why waste money on nice suspension to lift a 2wd? Just get a spacer lift if all you want is looks. :poking:

255/85/16 work with the stock wheels and look the best on a 1st gen. You just have to beat back the pinch weld a touch. I also ran OME 882s and stock uppers for basically ever with no issues up front.

The solid axle swap wasn't too hard either.:sawzall::welder::stirthepot:

Agreed. Save the money for a 4wd swap.

I liked the 255/85s when my truck was a DD because they were actually in the wheel wells and didn't fling shit all over the truck. If you have any 1st gen questions let me know, I've been building mine since 2005 and was an IFS DD for over half the time!

I sometimes miss not wanting 4wd .. all I ever owned was 2wd trucks . But once I got stuck I caught the fever.. in all honesty if I lived so close to the ocean as you do I probably would still have my prerunner ....

Just get you a hidden receiver hitch up front and a basket winch if you ever felt frisky

If I lived near the water I'd have a boat and a 4wd. Some ramps you aren't getting up without 4wd

If I lived near the water I'd be rich and have my own boat dock

You can always convert if you want. It’s a nice truck. It’s capable enough without it. Not like you can’t have plenty of fun with just the locker....Prerunner has the e-locker, right?

1st Gen D-Cab is the GOAT. Love those trucks.
... Living risky i see.i got my shit changed as soon as i bought my GX. 5K paperweight aint the play my man lol.

after owning a prerunner for 7 years before swapping to 4wd. It is not necessary, until you're stuck. Shit is wack. But you dont wheel and boat so you most likely wont miss 4wd. I bought the GX470 because it's full-time 4wd among other things. I wont not own a 4wd for as long as i live lol. It's nice

    Looks good bo

I wanted the fiberglass one for hauling dogs and eventually mounting solar panels on the roof. This one has the slider windows with screens on the sides. It doesn’t have the slider window so I can access it from the cab but I probably wouldn’t use that anyway.
