I had the worst time trying to sell my gaming PC last year. Lowballers everywhere, always a buddy or brother that can "build it for cheaper." I wish I had held onto it for a little bit longer, probably could have got a few hundred more for it but parts were still in stock and going for MSRP.

Looks like a great build, good luck with the dummies!

some people just go on Facebook and Craigslist and spend their time lowballing. I don’t know how often it works. The only time I get lucky (giggity) is driving by yard sales and seeing bicycles for dirt cheap compared to what they’re worth just on a fly by. :notsure: I’ve flipped a few but not worth hunting - bicycles are annoying because Grampa Jim thinks his 1992 road bike is worth the 1500$ it was worth when he bought it. Rotted tires and original brake lines things worth like 75 bucks. There’s a lot of that.

If I think someone's price is fair, I don't even try to counter. I gave the guy his listed price ($1200) for my trailer and he thanked me saying he was just about to pull the ad with the amount of people trying to get him to take $500.

Sure, then go build it cheaper..good luck. IDK how many hours went in but I searched each item new today and it's close to 4k. My buddy built it 12-15 months ago. Hoping the chip shortage works in my favour.

You'd be surprised, re the cables and tires in the BMX community some are still worth it if they are date stamped or a rare run of the tire. Though I'm up for some BMX maybe in trade for this thing.

Same. They almost seem surprised but I always say "well I've looked and I know your price is fair, plus I'm getting the item I have been needing so let's do this"

I really like that layout. Grand Design had one like that, I didn’t know others were making it now as well. For now, I have the same layout as @jpereira2 and it works well. I like my current layout because you don’t walk in next to the kids bunks. When they’re older, I could go for something like that though.
Basically same layout, just a different badge on the front, haha

I'd like to go just slightly larger but the same company changed the nose to have windows now. I prefer my one piece fiberglass nose

Yeah most companies have a design like that. I really like the Grand Designs as well. My favorite was a Kodiak that they don't make anymore.

Edit; Here it is. I really should have bought this camper!

Exactly. Anything I contact a seller on is something I'm willing to buy at their listed price. I admit, I will do a fair offer and if they come back I'm firm at $XX, but rarely if ever will I give a super low offer. If I do give a super low offer, I'll explain I know it's low, their price is fair, but if they're just looking for a reliable person to come and take whatever they're selling, I'm their guy. When I bought one of the pairs of seats for my Vette I offered $150 on a $300 (the ad mentioned they were damaged) explaining my plans for them, I knew it was low, but if they didn't want them anymore, let me know. I got an email back saying come and get them. Turns out they were probably worth $20, but they were useful for parts when I built my final set.

On the other hand, one of the ACs I had listed for $125 and I just got a message that said $50. No text, nothing. That's a quick way to get a "no". Or "all I have is $300" on a $900 set of wheels. Like...is that supposed to work? My favorite though was a guy badgering me about my old TRD Beadlocks. They were BNIB and I was asking $100 less than new cost since one wheel had a factory flaw. I had them on FB and on CL. He kept messaging and blowing me off. He then mentioned "a guy on CL has them for $800 too" to my FB ad. Uhh...yep. Finally he said "when are you going to sell them to me for $750". Never. The answer is never. I said as much and blocked him.

The dealer sent me a text asking if I'd trade or sell my 2019 4Runner. Maybe if I can get one in Lunar Rock color...

Exactly. Ideally I want to see the item first (as I would want someone to do if I'm selling) before actually talking about particulars, though I sometimes will ask if it's a firm price or not in general.

I love the "50" reply. I would answer that back with $175. You waste my time I waste yours. Invariably they say "what, the ad says..." and I say "well you feel the price is negotiable that much, so do I". I always research before pricing something against comparables just to try and make it easier.

My fave is "would you take XXX if I had cash?" I usually answer "I only take cash so that really isn't an incentive for me, but if you have old BMX stuff perhaps I'm interested in trading partially"

Exactly! We could have gotten a deal on the one I posted but the guy from the dealership at the show was an ass. We decided to hold off and the next time we went to check them out they were not making that particular one anymore. They still make the cheaper version of it but they want even more for the cheaper one now than we could have gotten the nicer one then.

I've gotten a few people who want me to take pity on them and basically give something away. I don't care if you really need it, or if all you have is 1/4 my asking price, I'm not running a charity here.

I will negotiate, people just need to understand my asking prices are ballpark numbers of what I'm hoping to get and I am probably not going to go to 1/2 of that. I listed my old lawn tractor for $200 knowing someone would want it mostly for parts. A guy called from about a mile away and said he was buying it for the engine and offered me $150. Done deal!

had a guy show up for my Jeep. Put it up for 4.5 he talked me to 3.7 I figured when he showed up he’d try 3.5. Great.

Showed up with 1.2 and threw it at me like “take it that’s all I got”. Turned him away. He magically produced the balance but I still told him to pound sand. Not dealing with that shenanigans. He got mad at me for making him come all the way down with a trailer and waste gas whatever.

whatever bro. Have a good trip back.

Anyway. Just posted my Tacoma for sale. Sure this will be fun.

Listed my Datsun ZX as a teenager for $400..needed frame, floorboard, etc. Guy shows up offering $150, I said no. Instead of going for the major stuff, he picks apart the tiniest things trying to find fault..oh this scratch, oh this stain..then says OK $200 I'll get my friend to front me $50. I said so if you showed up with $10 you'd want it for $10? No..you wanna pick about small things go buy new versus an 11 year old car.

Haha yeah at that point I'd have said $5000..you wanna waste my time, that has value too

I stayed at Apple island Campground. The best part is that there is no water or electricity on the tent site and they overlook the water. The trip was absolutely phenomenal!
