Not quite 2/3s of the way through the install today. Lower intake manifold is now out which includes the fuel rail. Only one major flaw in the directions so far, but wasn’t too bad to work through. We’ve been tagging and bagging parts from every step separately.

While it doesn’t look like much, there has been a good amount of part installation today. Modified coolant hoses, several sensor wiring extensions, SC pump and wiring plus the new ordered plugs. Started disassembly of the front core area to install the intercooler. So far everything has been top notch in quality and execution.

Umm, hate to burst your bubble sir but those 35s look a little small.....in my opinion. You're going to just have to go with the AEV kit and suck it up on 35s until the 37s come out in a couple months!

Edit: If I would've read a little bit further I would've noticed you bought the kit!

Not really a Jeep guy at all but that looks sweet! Looks like it should come from the factory that way.

Today major components started going in. Thanks for the hand @Kidwidataco

New cast aluminum lower intake, replaces the OEM plastic unit, with new high flow Bosch injectors and fuel rail mounted. (Should have taken photo before install)

Front intercooler. Did put a minor bend in it on the passenger side pushing it down to secure it in place.

    SC installed in place.

Found a few more minor areas for improvement in the instructions, and was missing two standard hose clamps for the front intercooler and coolant pump install (fortunately I had spares on hand).

    Currently 79% done.

I could use the help of fellow JL/JT owners to do me a favor! I have a severed plug at the back of the driver side engine bay. It is unclear what this connected to as nothing seems to be in the vicinity, it did have a ~1” white wire protruding from it. This plug is on top of the driver side plastic encased wiring harness near the firewall. It may be under the OEM plastic engine cover on an unmodified Jeep. If someone with a JL/JT 3.6 could confirm this connects to something, that would be helpful.

That’s great that it takes no effort to run 35s and minimal effort to fit 37s, we need to butcher our trucks to fit those tires.
My buddy has 37 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on his Gladiator and really likes them.

81.5lbs for those tires though, ouch, vs 68lbs with the upcoming KO2s. I want to be able to spin the rear tires free on the highway like I could with my Tacoma. Weight is everything. I realize most think that is absurd, but optimizing everything is kinda my thing.

For sure, I haven’t asked my buddy what his mpg is or how the power is. I have the 285 KO2s in C for 51 lbs, great tire. For 2020 Rubicon’s came with KO2 285 70 17s here in BC, I bought some new take offs for a great price.

I believe those C-load 285s were released specifically for Jeep, much like the upcoming 37s are specifically for Ford.

Did they get them before the Rubicon? That might be correct.

Either way it was an OE application that made BFG produce them in a large C-load.

I think initially they did but Jeep picked them up as well for the Rubicon.

Of course you’re bagging and tagging parts, every install I do I tell myself I will before and I end up throwing them somewhere in frustration lol. Looking good brother. So happy you stuck to TW even with a jeep. Thanks for the updates!!! Gonna be real mean. If only we could see gains on the 3.5 with the Maggy like the Gladiator has.

Are you butthurt it’s a jeep? If you don’t know @crashnburn80 do some reading around these parts, Man’s a damn legend. Most informative and data driven write ups there are on TW.
Typically we don’t like jeepers but this is
    different. Lol.

Tagging and bagging has been a life saver. Many steps have you later reuse OEM hardware from a previous step, without any forewarning at time of removal.

No need to hate on any specific vehicles/brands. Jeep’s have some awesome qualities, just as Toyota’s do. I’ve driven 4 Toyota trucks over the last 12 years, amazing vehicles.

I know, I reaaally wish I did it but always just get on a roll then realize how unorganized I am.

Agreed- my first car ever was a 4 cylinder 98 jeep. Was an absolute hog but it was damn fun. There’s always been a rivalry for sure but aint no time for hate.

My mom just bought a sahara, it’s pretty darn nice. That gladiator you have going is friggin gorgeous though.

Huge shout out to @Anderson who helped diagnose the severed connector on his JT. Turns out it is an EGR sensor, must have been damaged trying to pull the harness out of the way for the SC housing supporting bracket install.

I’d just like to reiterate what an awesome community this is.

    Sensor with sheared off wires.
