These uppers will mate with any lower? I was thinking of building a pistol but this may have me considering otherwise

Does anybody have experience with the 12” Barrell upper. I’d like to build a pistol but not opposed to a more accurate 16” rifle either

Thanks I’ll be doing some more research apparently. I have a 16” rifle so wanted to build something more compact but staying as open minded as the can. Realistically my old eyes aren’t that good anymore and the rifle I have may be pretty accurate but hard for me to shoot accurately with no magnification past 100. Deffinately going to take some more shooting and investigarion

BCM 11.5 is my pistol length. Also have an aero 16 with an 1-8 lpvo
If I had to combine them into one weapon a pin and welded 14.5 with a LPVO would be a great choice. Gets around the pistol brace and still packs a little more velocity than the short barrel.

Love the BCM it's a fantastic system with the can mounted its the same overall length as my 16 without the can. Also quite a bit lighter and easier to move around

I'm not sure what I'll do with the 16 in the future now I use it at the 100-500 yard lines. LPVO makes 200-500 a ton easier. Definitely want to replace the 10 inch quad rail with a more modern 15 inch mlock rail prob add a bipod. No sense in going to a 14.5 on it since I have the bcm. No point in going longer like 18 inch since I have my Tikka tac A1 for high power longer range. And the aero is accurate enough for how I use it.

rotated tires changed oil threw out the old air freshener.
    Has anyone used a BFD?

Big f'nn deal or a Blast Forwarding Device.

I've been getting complaints from the benches next to me while enjoying a 308

If you mean a linear compensator (rather than a blast can), yes. The Griffin Armaments one works nicely, while also controlling muzzle rise. Not sure if there's a .308 version, though.

    Whole lotta stuff
I wonder what magic Larue is putting into those barrels. I’ve never bought a complete upper or rifle. All my guns are franken guns. The two ARs I’ve built are using Noveske barrels which I’ve found are well worth the hefty price tag. They are tac-drivers. So, I’ll say the barrel is the heart of any good system when it comes to ARs.

Its great to see manufactures putting together good systems. It’s a great value, getting both good quality and ergonomics in the same package. Rather than building something only to find it doesn’t feel so nice in the hands.

All I have right now is the lower and some parts so I’m still pretty much wide open as far as direction

My 18” Larue is an ultimate tack driver. On a good day, I can shoot 5 shot groups less than an inch @100 yards. With my other ARs, I’m getting 1”-1.5” groups.

A 2fer on Tuesday. Have to be thrifty so on the bottom is a new Tippmann M4-22 pistol with a Mask. 1 range day with it so far and I'm impressed. As reliable as any other rimfire I own and way cheaper to run through 500 rounds on AR controls (Also get bonus malfunction drills because cheap 22lr is cheap).

On the top for length reference, and because the discussion was accurate uppers is an 18" BSF barrel that I tried all the accuracy lore with (squared the receiver face, shimmed the barrel/receiver interface) and it is way more accurate than me.

    Yeah.
Got fished in by a Cheaper Than Dirt email and ordered a Wilson Combat lower with no real plan. Probably build it up with a LaRue trigger for my nice rifle, then decide what I want to do with the other lower. I don't have a .22LR, so might go that route.

Same but then I just bought a m&p 15-22 for less than $400 a long time ago and it scratched that itch.

    Yeah.
Palmetto makes a 22LR upper, but who knows what kind of itch I will have when stock is available. All my current lowers are built out with standard kits, just thought I might put together a nicer one. But that leaves me with an unused one, and we can't have that.
