ALSO! As an FYI, the 6006 switches that accommodate the Option 1 kit, will be coming without factory packaging, AKA bare. These are brand new switches(never mounted/installed), just ordered in their “bulk” configuration.

Unfortunately there is a nationwide shortage on these switches, and lead times are pretty crazy. I was able to get my hands on these bulk versions much much sooner than I was the ones with packaging. Just wanted to update in case there were any questions; I hope you all understand. Thanks again ladies and gents!

Got mine installed today. Need to reroute and/or trim the leads a little so it looks a little cleaner. Also can't get the bottom of the switch housing to clip back on, so I'm just gonna get 2 longer screws and use those to secure it on 2 corners.

Looking good brother!! To clean up the wiring, I suggest swapping the leads, if your winch lead is long enough to allow it to do so. If not, maybe try routing the lead underneath the switch rather than over it?

Not sure why the bottom of the housing isn’t snapping back on; I’d suggest making sure the leads aren’t getting in the way of it.

Otherwise, looking great! Let me know if I can help in any way.

The housing went on once fine and them I had to take it back off and it won't snap back on. Not sure if maybe one of the little plastic clips got a little smashed or something.
Will probably pull the grill this weekend to clean the wiring up. I ordered some ring terminals just in case. The lead you provided didn't seem to be long enough to go under and switching to the other terminal seems like it may be a little long.

This is fantastic and exactly what I’ve been looking for! Is there any chance you would have an idea of where this could be mounted on a 5th Gen 4runner? My taco is my daily and my 4Runner is my offroad toy, but came across this while searching for a solution.

Hi Gilmorec61, is there any way you could manufacture a fully spelled out "OH SH*T Switch" mount?

Well, necessity is the mother of invention provision I guess, in this case. Wanted a mount shown from this thread but no response.

So, decided to make my own bracket for my winch voltage cutoff switch. For $2.52 cents in metal you can't go wrong. Just need to drill the mounting holes in it, wire wheel and clean the metal, and hit it with some spray paint.

At the moment, I do not. I have plans to make a version for the 4runner, however have yet to have time to get my hands on one for some R&D.

Apologies sir! Not sure how I missed your first post. If you shot me a PM, I didn’t receive it! It could be possible to satisfy your request, however the next batch is a bit out.

    When there’s a will, there’s a way! Your solution works :)
