Most people will never see a 1934 Schwinn Aerocycle in person much less in a taco.

@levie125, do all parks have designated RC spots. Like I flew in RedRock from the parking lot yesterday and took photos.

I also looked in Mueller which is where we’re going today. I can’t find anything that says you can’t fly, but also can’t find anything that says you can.

The weird thing about parks are they only have regulations over the ground take off and landing, if you take off outside the park you can fly over as long as it’s not in restricted airspace. However you’re “supposed” to be able to see the drone at all times.

I think they are banned in Garden of the Gods but I don’t know about any other locations. To be honest, I know very little about drone regulations.

Yes they are banned there I found that easily, however like I said I think it’s only to take off from GoG. You take off a 100’ off park and fly over I don’t think you’re breaking any rules/laws.

I have a feeling it’s situational depending on who tells you it’s not allowed. Kinda how doing 5-10 mph over speed limit one cop may be a dick, one may be fair and just write a warning/citation, and one may say slow it down have a nice day.

You get different answers from everyone you ask

Nice edit. I live a mile from The Devils Backbone so it’s my local go to. Just an FYI nothing out there has changed since the fires. Although Bobcat Ridge burned pretty bad and is still closed.

Cross posted from "What have you done to your 3rd Gen Today" forum.

I am sure I'm not the first to tackle this project but I enjoyed it.

Built a PVC bike rack to carry 3 bikes in the bed. I have a 1UP 2-bike hitch rack on order but it is going to take a while due to backlogs, plus a Prinsu on the way which I will have 1 or 2 additional carriers on. So this is short term solution for the bed, but a permanent solution to stand up the wife and kid's bikes in the garage. I have wall racks for my bikes, so it is nice to finally have an inexpensive solution for the family bikes.

    https://www.instructables.com/Truckbed-Bike-Rack/

Used the above link for the build plan, took about 2 hours. Looks real easy but you have to plan some of the final gluing sequences very carefully. I did make one mistake when one of the jopints seized up before I had the piece in its correct position. Had to cut it out and reposition with a coupler. The plans call for 4 10' pieces of 3/4" PVC. I have two full 10' pieces leftover. I would advise to only get 3 so you have some extra for mistakes. Also get some 3/4" couplers and extra elbows and T's, also for mistakes. They are inexpensive insurance to avoid another trip to the store.

I bought clear glue hoping to keep it a clean look, but couldn't find clear primer so used the purple. I am going to end up taking a rattle can too it at some point because it looks messy with the glue joints.

I believe my Giant Trance has ~2.3" wide tires and they fit snug. Be cautious with the smaller ~2" cuts to not make the wheel section too narrow for your tires.

Great but slammed. Actually depends on the timing especially right now but when it’s in full swing, sometimes the other riders ruin a great spot. :( and this major spots have higher odds of running into enough meatballs that it ruins the ride.

I wanted a mount that worked with multiple through axel lengths so I made my own. I am a little spoiled as I have a mill. This works great fyi.

Were the trails clear any higher than the lake?! I thought we'd be waiting another month to pedal a lot of that stuff...

So just ordered a bleed kit for my brakes (shimano) - I have seen two different methods online and curious if anyone here had any input. The general consensus is to set the lever parallel with the ground and just to hook up one of the plungers to the bleed nipple on the caliper and the other gets screwed into the fill cap on the lever, and you just push the fluid through back and forth a couple times. The other method is to put the funnel into the lever fill location and push fluid through the caliper upwards to release the air. I could ideally try both methods, but anyone able to lend some insight?

Bleed top down - if you pour into the funnel, air won't get in there. Pushing up from the bottom, gets to be a pain and not worth it - in my experience, with Shimano. I had Avid brakes and those were a pain in the arse.

Nice, I was just there on Sunday, did a Ski and MTB day. Neither was particularly great, but it still a lot of fun to do both in one day.

the actual uphill parts are fine. parts of the downhill on the higher elevations are not g2g. insurgent was g2g entirely. same with all of ricochet. anything higher is rolling a dice right now.

What im about to ask is heresy, but would any of you guys get rid of your Tacoma for a Forester?

Only ask because my truck very rarely goes off road, and even then its fire/gravel road.

We have both a Tacoma and Forester. Being a handy homeowner and owning an MTB Guiding company a Tacoma is a necessity AKA "truck stuff" like lumber, mulch, tools, 5+ bikes regularly, etc. I could not imagine living without a truck.

In my opinion, if you're even asking the question than you would be 100% satisfied with a Forester. The hatch space is badass (and dry), roof rack plenty capable, and drives better - many times we take the Forester camping instead of my truck.
