So my driver door switch for the passenger window stopped working. The window still works fine with the passenger side switch. I'm guessing its the wiring harness on the driver side door. Trucks only 3 years old though. If its already having wiring issues I'm thinking maybe I should off load it. Has anyone had this kind of issue with your 3rd gens?

I'd guess its the switch on the drivers side and not the wiring.

Was the battery unplugged recently? Have you tried the window reset? Look up Toyota window reset on YouTube and see if that helps. I had the exact same issue with mine after unplugging the battery, but it works perfectly again after the reset.

Thanks! I'll give that a try. It would make sense. the battery was replaced when this issue started. Was thinking it grounded, causing a draw and killed the battery. But now I'm hopeful I don't have garbage wires.

And you've not done any diagnostics or taken it to a shop?

That kind of thinking is helpful in simulating the economy for sure!

Tip. Always assume simple and work up from there. Because often simple it is.

Had the same issue last week. You have to “reinitialize” the motor.

From the passenger side, roll it down and keep holding the switch down for 3-5 seconds after it’s down, then roll it up and keep holding the switch for an extra 3-5 seconds.

Edit: My thread for the same issue

This sounds silly but, have you checked that the window lock button didn't get pushed by mistake? It disables all the windows other than the driver's.

I was more concerned that if a 3 yo truck has wiring issues, its going to be all down hill from there, just looking ahead. My 2nd gen had zero issues and that MFer was 12 yo and had been in the ocean.. But if it just need to be reset then that's all good.

Worth a try! In that case my guess would be reinitializing like mentioned above
