I just had mine done. I purchased the assemblies and took it to the dealership. It required a special press fitting no other shop around had or was willing to weld up. They also had to torch the old bearings off. They struggled. It was worth more than what I paid them to do it. I came out right at 1k parts and all.

If you can find something like that it would be way easier to do yourself. I bought these-

Just called Rocket City Offroad and if i bring them the axle assembly they can source the part and replace it by noon tomorrow. Any reason not to go with these folks??

I’ve only pulled them just far enough out to get my rear diff out, but the only difference would be disconnecting the brake lines to get them the rest of the way out I would imagine. Should probably change the axle seals while you’re in there.

I had some folks say they could do it, but didn’t realize they needed a special press jig until I questioned them on it. Some had one for first gens but not for second gens. Might double check, could save you a trip

Appreciate the words sir! Pulled the axle out early this afternoon; its sitting at Rocket City Offroad. They said they'd have it replaced by tomorrow noon. Will update with results; this could potentially be a great resource for those that have to do the same repair down the road. They charge $120 to take the old one off and press the new one on.
