@Dr. Doom Says I’d have to concur with Alex. We have a Crosstrek in addition to my Tacoma. Subarus are plenty capable and have the ground clearance to navigate tons of off highway travel. Add a tow hitch and a small utility trailer and all your ‘truck’ stuff is completed.

Same here, haha. I have the tacoma, my wife drives the Forester. Most of the time we take the Forester, unless we have a specific need for the extra space of the truck. If we had a roof rack or tail hitch for the Forester, it would negate much of the need for the truck, at least for most travel stuff. The Forester rides better, gets better mileage, feels more comfortable going over 75mph, and is more comfortable.

Would i get rid of my Tacoma for a Forester? Probably not, I just like having a truck. But for most people, its most likely a more economical car, with like 90% of the capability (unless you're doing "actual" off-roading, obviously).

Both my kids are old enough to go on some mellow/short rides now (2y/o on a balance bike). So I’m looking to get a bike for the wife to kick around on. Basically an excuse for me to get a second bike. Prolly gonna have to go with a small frame since she’s only 5’4”

These base RM Growlers may fit the bill. Add a dropper and upgrade parts over time.

Yeah, Fozzy XT's are what lead me to Tacomas/T4R's. The newer XT's only came CVT so it was a turn off. A 18' 6spd popped up and I got interested again - really like the idea of getting rid of a payment as well.

Anyone have experience riding a Transition Vanquish. Can’t quite tell if it was a trail biased XC bike or just al’round fun bike.

:spy: I just posted my truck for sale yesterday, if it goes for what I need it to (it very well may given current prices) I'll probably land in a Mazda 3 hatch if I can, if not some sort of hatchback sedan anyway :nosture: A body on frame truck is overkill for most people, if you ain't need it, the added expense and hassle - not worth it. Begone truck!

Heck, I'm even considering going "down" to a 2019 Frontier instead too.

yea i have to say I don't prefer the CVT. feels rubbery and elastic, which is weird to me. I don't think most people notice, my wife can't tell there's a difference in the transmissions of our vehicles.

    Spotted so many Tacomas there.

I did a similar thing; snowboarding in the morning and mtb in the afternoon on Saturday. Luckily no lightning struck within 7miles of the resort while we were there and it was overcast. Otherwise, they would’ve shut the resort down. 2017 was a nice long season there to do both bike park and winter resort activities. I got to go 4th of July weekend for that season and it was a great experience.

I'm hella miffed Transition killed off their hardtail line. I demo'd one and they were discontinued by the time I got serious about one.

It's more of a trail hardtail than an XC bike. Transition makes their bikes to party, so its hard to go wrong with one.

You’re helping, not helping. Stumbled on one that may be taking precedent over other options for the wife. Even if it is a medium and see needs a small :notsure:

Get the one that fits, not the one that looks the coolest.

Or just N+2 and rock it for yourself :D
