I'll echo Trav1 said. I got tested and was dangerously close to abnormally low levels at 30. I have no issue really with needles, i have tattoos. the first few times its weird then its nothing.
My doc just sends my meds out and we do bloods about twice a year. nothing crazy, i haven't even hit high end "normal" ranges yet.

I'll come off when i decide to have a kid, but have no issue with the idea of being on most my life. I simply would prefer to feel awesome over not.

I value your opinion and encourage you to consider all avenues before approaching it. I was perfectly happy with my physique off trt, but the improvements are noteworthy.

Anyone complete that Memorial day crossfit hero workout thing known as Murph.

I've done it for about 5 or so years and it never gets any easier. I'm quite literally fucked up today

If you do, I would suggest whatever you do to one foot, you do to the other. No gimps allowed.

Just thinking, you might even be able to do something with some shoe inserts.

It is interesting different experiences are different. I only have the most negative things to say about TRT when it is not medically indicated.
I felt miserable on it but I had a complete moron of a physician telling me to be on it. They were treating lab values, not patients.

I’m happy you guys have at least competent docs helping you through it.

I did it yesterday and am absolutely fucked today, and I keep getting more sore throughout the day. My calves took the worst of it because I ran in vans.

You’re the runner, you should tell me. Something about having no support or some shit. Idk, it killed my calves and I was told that it’s because I was in vans.

It all depends in what you train with. My trail shoes are 0mm drop to 5mm drop. So basically a Van.
My road shoes are 8mm to 10mm drop.

As long as you train in them, run in what works for you.

If you are not used to shoes that have a minimal heel to toe drop then yes it stretches your posterior chain.

I would say your soreness is more of a result of lack of training. But running in Vans means zero drop which is totally hip now in the running community ;)

Probably. I’m also 40 pounds heavier than last time I purposefully ran, and I had a 20lb vest on. Shit was less than fun.

Was also freaked out to see 215 on the scale while I had the vest on. Shit was wild.

For the first time ever I've been dealing with this a bit lately. I'm going up hiking tomorrow and will be taping up. Bottoms of my heels and maybe balls of my feet. I bought some Leukotape. Supposed to be better than moleskin. More adhesive and since it's in roll form as opposed to a sheet/square/rectangle it should be easier to apply and stay on better. If your blister's "roof" is still intact consider making an island dressing for it. Basically a donut with the blister in the center to keep some pressure off. I think my last experience with blistering might have been due to some socks that are too loose. Sounds idiotic but the rest of my gear was tried and tested. And those socks are some badass Smartwools. I'm thinking the looseness might have allowed the sock to slide around and blister the bottom of my heel. Let us know what works for you and I'll give you a report on the Leukotape as well.

I have a ton of respect for you heavier brahs running. I’m probably 170 something at this point but I still get my ass kicked in utras by brahs 250+lbs

If you strapped a 50lb vest to me no way I could run.
I have developed a pretty serious adhesive allergy recently (every time I have surgery I get a new allergy). But I take 20mg of Loratadine daily plus 2 Benadryl a day. So its keeping the reactions at bay.
So far KT Tape is doing well. A thick skin directly on the area which is along the sand as your idea.
Band aids are a no. Still too much friction.

Currently the blisters are popped (rule in ultras is pop) so no covering.

Correct. Going to be a tasty treat after 14 miles of running.

I think the KT tape and the Leuko will do about the same. Either way it's going to be a bit painful I bet. Gotta pay to play I guess.

I would freak out at 215 on the scale, too. But for the totally opposite reason. The last time I saw that number was when cutting weight for wrestling in high school...15 years ago.

Yep. Its not as rewarding if you don’t at least suffer a little bit.

I like some superficial lacerations as well. Get some blood flowing but nothing too scary.:)
