Seems like OP just has some long legs. Either adjust your entry process or find a bigger truck I guess.

 

I think it's an unwritten rule/code that all shops have to slide the seat all the way forward when moving a customer's vehicle around.

Or maybe it's just something they all do with manual trans vehicles when they aren't familiar with them, I dunno. My truck's seat is always slid completely forward every time no matter where I'm picking it up from. Don't know how anyone could think that would make it easier to operate unless you're 4ft tall.

I couldn’t even get in my truck unless I moved the seat back. Happened everytime when I took my truck to the dealer.

 

Honestly I wonder if they do it on purpose, to either remove the anti-grease covers/mats, or as a safety thing so that the customer knows the seat was messed with.

 

Not sure, but it is pretty annoying. Takes me like 5 mins to adjust my seat after.

Also they leave it in gear and I usually don’t unless I’m on a hill. Scared the shit out of me a couple of times haha, I looked like a total noob.

 

Just tell them not to move the seat. Works for me.

 

I sit pretty far back so I’m pretty sure it’s not gonna fly.

@AviToyoTaco , If all else fails, you could, get yourself a 3g grab handle.

 

If you have a MT you should always leave it in gear. Had a parking brake fail on my 00 Inifiniti G20 and even though the parking lot looked flat it still moved.

There's a thread where people are discussing accidentally putting their truck in park or reverse from drive because they forgot they were driving an auto instead of a manual.

I'd hate to see some of y'all out on the open road.

 

OP has dbbl cab, maybe he keeps the rear seats down which limits the amount the front seat will go back.

 

If my left foot isn't on the footrest pad, knee gets smushed when i close the door

 

Banging shins, heads, knees, engaging 4x4 when trying to use hvac controls, rear view mirror blocks forward vision, rear headrests block rear vision, can’t see shit in the back up camera, all this while being over your payload with 4 guys and a cooler.

3rd gen tacos are not for the weak...
