    Hi all.
New to this forum. Does anyone have any information on a Tacoma hybrid? If so, I'd love details if they are available.
    Thanks.

Apparently tomorrow (2 June), Toyota is going to reveal some stuff to their dealers etc.. which will mean it will be all over YouTube within hours. Tacoma is not due for a major update (next gen) for a coupla years yet. We may see the new Tundra though!

    Good luck.

With the way/speed that the market is transitioning i would say they're probably going to jump right to full electric. Or possibly do something like the Chevy volt. Where you have a 5 gallon gas tank just to get you somewhere if needed but be 80% electric. Hybrids are, and always were, a stepping stone to fully electric tech once the battery capacity improved and charging infrastructure caught up. I would say the electric taco will hit markets by 2025 at the latest.

All of this is pure speculation though on my part

Take the powerplant out of my wife's Highlander Hybrid and sign me up.

I have no idea if or when that would happen.

2022 Tacoma, 4runner and Tundra introduced at the Chicago auto show. No mention of hybrids. A hugely popular 2.5l synergy drive system ranging from 219 to 302 hp is currently available in RAV4, Highlander, Sienna, Camry and Vensa. Expect this package will also be available in Tacoma in not to distant future.

We just bought a rav4 prime, and if they do anything like that to the Tundra, 4Runner or Tacoma I’ll buy one.

In the few days we have had the rav4 prime, I have nothing bad to say, other than the dam stupid noise when backing up.

Yah! they could have picked a better sound than angels descending to earth. A backup beeper would make much more sense.

I'm also waiting to hear. I don't see myself driving a hybrid anytime soon so I haven't been looking

Have you driven one yet? The rav4 prime is the fast car Toyota produces themselves, second to the Supra which is a BMW collaboration.

The prime is faster than either the gas or hybrid. Sign me up

Speed doesn’t win in a Tacoma or trucks on general, a plug in hybrid with superior range and gas milage will.

Ok, so the rav4 prime has about a 600 mile range. I’ll see if I can find the off road video I watched this weekend, again impressed as I hated the rav4 when I shopped them about 8 years ago.

Do you even know what the rav4 prime is? We have driven about 100 miles on maybe a few gallons of gas and that was on day 1 when the battery wasn’t fully charged. Since charging it, we haven’t used any gas.

I’m not saying that yota should use the same exact setup as the rav4 system, but anything close will be dam good I believe.

getting 12 mile to the gallon on the 4Runner was not ok.

Yeah I was thinking about the Highlander, which I didn’t think had a hybrid engine. The RAV4 sounds good with the hybrid.

I am very impressed, and they do have a hybrid highlander, and I think they have been putting that out for about 10 years.
