That kinda the dilemma. She has little go no interest in trail riding. Getting a bike for her is purely to get out as family. The bike we get for her will mainly be a second bike for me. Just need something that won’t be too big for her.

That’s honestly where I’m leaning, and why that base Growler seems like a good option. Well, it was until I noticed the standover is still pretty significant.

I just bought my Tacoma 3 weeks ago after fretting the decision for 3 years. I had Forester and Outback on the short list of other vehicles to consider along with a few others. At the end of the day, if I could only have one vehicle, I had to go with the Tacoma. It checked off every box. Everything else I was considering had a compromise I was not willling to make. The only two negatives I had on the tacoma was 1) Size for a daily driver and 2) MPG. I could live with both of those.

With that said, my wife has a Honda Odyssey and we will likely take that on most family leisure trips due to it being smaller, more manueverable, better MPG, etc. Things like going to the beach, camping, biking, outdoor stuff, we will use the Tacoma.

    Take that Forrester fog!

This is @backcountryj new pump track - shaping up nicely. Pump tracks are awesome for reaction time, fitness, and getting hurt!

I know we discussed heart rates awhile back, but I think some of my weight loss over the last few months is from sessioning jump lines. Sprinting into jumps and having at it and then having heart rate peak and then cooling down to do it all again - I’d kill to have a proper pump track near me.

Your Patrol much like my bigger wheeled Sentinel cousin is just a lot of bike for pump track use. Heavy, lotta suspension, and slower rolling tires.

Go look at a dirt jumper: its semi-slick tires, so efficiency loss as a hardtail, etc

Looks fun. Moving mid June, should be totally in by the end of the month.

    Good luck homie.

I tweaked my knee last week, and I have no idea how. Just woke up with an ache, which got worse through the days. Hoping it’s not arthritis.
The ebike is such a great recovery tool. Had a great ride today, couldn’t have gone out without it. Had a proper adventure ride, full of snow, hail, thunderstorms, and getting lost. Good times in the forests.

Did a quick trip up to Boise Area with my father-in-law. Ended up throwing the bike in the truck. Hit a quick ride at Eagle Bike Park..

I have been told I have arthritis in my shoulder…mostly likely from falling mountain biking a couple times. PT has been helping since the most recent fall but I fell a couple years back and I feel like I had just heeled up over the last two years haha

fun fact, almost everyone over the age of 20 has some degree of "arthritis." its a very easy catch-all diagnosis from primary care physicians, and PTs looking for something to blame for joint pain.

It may or may not be what's actually causing your pain. Most of the time, even in people with MRI "proof" of arthritis, you can relieve the pain and other "symptoms" of arthritis with proper movement analysis and correction through stretching/strengthening. Worst case, it slows the progress of the arthritis, best case, it completely resolves the pain.

That's what I'm hoping. I've been slacking on my Yoga routine, and I typically feel pretty good when I'm on it. I also need to find myself a good PT, and more importantly, a good athlete physician, so that I can get a better big-picture understanding of what's going on. I have all sorts of pain and injuries that are accumulating.
