There's this weird button stuck above my rear view mirror on my 2017 trd sport access cab. It randomly flashes a blue LED light on the top of it. The only accessory on my truck that I know of is my ARE cap on the back. I keep hitting the button and I don't see anything turn on... just flashes blue on the strip itself. HELP! Thanks!

If that's the case. Maybe just unplug that little thing. Would hate to see someone just take off with your truck...since you say it's stock.

Maybe pull the wires to see where they lead to. Have to connect to something.

Looks like a remote antenna or receiver. Any writing on any of it?

I figured out that Mine is the DS4+ with SmartStart .... so i plugged it back in, synced it to phone, got it working with the app on my phone, no other users. AND IT STARTS from my phone.

The replacement fobs get programed in vehicle, Bluetooth and the replacement is Viper D9116v....just ordered.

    Thank you.

I'll have to try the smart start app with mine. I doubt it being 6 years since I had it installed.

If you can see the the id sticker on the unit under your dash you can find out the model number and see. You may get lucky. Fingers crossed.

I don't know how much effort I'm gonna put into this. The Smart Start program wants $5/month. Fuck that noise...

You can download the app and the start/stop lock/unlock features are free. But it's only Bluetooth from 30 feet.... thats what I did till the fobs come.... im not paying monthly unless it comes with Netflix for free. Hahaha

My son had one of these in his Corolla SE. It is a nice piece and I think you’ll come to like it. He has since traded in the Corolla in for a Camry SE and says he misses it.

All 2021 and later have these. It will be used in phase 4 of the Pandemic. You'll need to lick your finger and press it to start your truck.

It should go active in 6~8 weeks.

Please excuse my ignorance but are these aftermarket remote starters or from the factory? I presume aftermarket but I’m new to Tacoma.
