Trying out a new mountain bike mounting solution.
Rocky mount driveshaft HM mounted on top of the Molle plate
I just need to bring one bike 95% of the time.

    Requirements
-didn't want it on the roof
    -quick(ish) on and off
    -least amount of added weight
    -nothing Hitch mounted

If we're doing some hardcore off-roading, I'll take the bike off and store it inside. Or more than likely I'll be riding the bike while my wife drives.

I still need to fabricate a tray for the rear wheel, but I've got a solution figured out.

Everything is still operational. I can operate the latch for the tent, turn the propane on and off, and remove the propane tank, and open the door. All while the bike is still attached.
Doesn't interfere with the door at all

Great idea! I’m in the same situation as you but I need to fit two bikes. I have one of these campers on order. I was thinking about just storing them inside when
Moving but I like your idea better. Is your bike a 29”? How does it fit Inside?

27.5 plus, which is basically 29.

It technically fits inside if I remove the front wheel but it's a pain to get in and out. Hard to lift a 30lb bike up sideways and slide it through the rear door while not scratching anything. Then once inside it's difficult to secure so it isn't bouncing around.

These are great Points. Is it as solid as it looks? Please pics once you figure out a solution for the rear tire.

Finally got the 175 watt Renogy solar panel installed. Alu-Cab was pre wired for solar and the plug they use on the roof is an Anderson Plug. 50 amp plug I believe. Had a short piece from Powerwerx made to go from the Anderson plug to the solar panel. Used a 3M adhesive to stick it down and seems like it will work just fine time will tell. Put a third load bar at the back to help protect/hide the wiring. Not sure if that’s what I want long term but for now it will work.

Hey guys. I have a Gladiator but enjoy checking on how everyone fits out their ACCCs. The gladiator has a wider area between the cab and the camper than the Tacoma, but I wanted to share a recent mod that gives me more outdoor storage space. We did this specifically to store stinky bike clothes, shoes and helmets.
And a quick pic of the interior build. Food in one box and recovery in the other. The cushion from the pass through door makes for a great couch.

Very nice. I’ve thought about hinges for that area but never got around to thinking it through. Glad to see it can be done.

Installed a positive air pressure vent & connected the LEDs to the 12v on the 7 pin towing plug. Only bad part is that the truck has to be on, in the accessory mode to get power.

Just about wrapped up with version 1 of a cabinet build, just needs the tops painted, bottoms stained, and some hinges for one section. Also need to make some cushions for the top.
Made from press fit aluminum and artic birch ply.

I'll live with this version for a year so then probably tear it out and do it a little different.

Headed to Utah and Colorado for a 3-week vacation on friday, I'm excited to try it out

Looks Great! Sometimes the simplest set up can be the best. I’m laying out my driver side buildout currently and it’s hard not to go too crazy, but I’m already sick of tubs! Ha ha

I’m thinking about doing the same. Our regular two bike Rocky Mounts rack usually lives on our 4 Runner. I only need to haul two bikes when my GF rides with me and we usually just take her car. When she doesn’t want to ride or is at work with the rack I end up putting mine in the Alucab. Moving racks from vehicle to vehicle gets old fast.
Did you end up fabricating something for the rear tire to rest on? Does it bounce off the bumper or move around at all without the rear wheel strapped down?

Honestly doesn't move much at all driving on pavement, I just let it rest on the bumper. Off-road it bounces a fair amount but I normally take the bike off and stash it inside if it gets rough.

I bought a T2 replacement rear wheel tray from Thule, cost about 25$. Planning on cutting it down and bolting to the lowest part of the alucab.just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Didn't know this thread existed. Glad to see some good convo and awesome ideas.
    hi @2ayne !

After waiting a year for my GFC, and having a couple of issues, I sold it 3 months later.
I ordered my Alu-Cab Canopy Camper and a few months later, installed it and took off for 10 days.
We fell in love. The quality was simply so much better than we could have imagined.... absolutely mind blown.
The girlfriend was pissed when I sold the GFC because I had waited so long and had the truck without a tent/camper for a few months.

Fast forward a couple of months and I spoke to Alu-Cab, became a dealer, and started a shop focused on selling and installing Alu-Cab.

I can't say enough good things about the product, the manufacturing process, and the team at Alu-Cab USA and Alu-Cab South Africa.
If any of you guys from Tacoma World need help or need product, please reach out to me. We can help.
