2020 trd offroad. Adaptative cruze control working great but when I am about to crash it's not giving me the braake and autostop that it's supposed to. NO LIGHT ON DASH!!!
I know something is wrong because I had a 2020 trd sport for a couple of months and every time you were going to near to another car the brake alert and even once the autostop system was really effective and quick so I know how is suppose to work.

Welcome. If you know this you should be taking it to a dealer ASAP so they can hook it up to techstream and figure out what the problem is. This is not something you can turn a wrench on. Good luck and go to the dealer.

I am in the dealership and they are saying everything is ok but it's not working and I know it because I had one working like is supposed to. Thanks for your comments.

I don't think it kicks in until you're going 25 mph or so. If you're testing it under that, you won't see anything happen.

not trying to be rude but if your BRAKE! alert is popping up often you need to seriously work on improving your driving skills

Unfortunately we cannot do anything that will prod your dealer. What YOU CAN do is contact Toyota Corporate and have them open up a case if you are dissatisfied
with the dealer's judgement. See what happens.

If you know that you’re about to crash into something you should definitely apply the breaks yourself instead of waiting for the truck to do it for you. Being alert and paying attention can solve your issue better than the dealer can. That safety feature is more for the idiots not paying attention. Please, don’t be one of those idiots.

It's not a self driving/stopping feature. It's a safety nanny that will potentially protect a negligent driver, one with slower reflexes or the occasional actual rarity of an object that appears unexpectedly in the path of the vehicle.

Since the dealer says it works as it should, and you think it doesn't, just ask them to take you for a test drive and demonstrate it in the real world, not just show you on a computer readout. Them driving of course.

But @hiPSI is right. Even those here with Techstream and the skills to use it can't fix your truck over the interwebz.

I understand everything you say and thanks for the answers. I know the system is not supposed to drive or brake for you, don't think I am a crazy driver. Just saying that the truck I had before is basically the same truck, same year just a different trim and the other one gave me the alert every time I was too close to a car and this no. Thanks again.

Make sure that you have the distance set correctly for braking. When set to the closest setting of three (Bottom right of steering wheel) sometimes I feel like it is not working correctly.

Very funny. I thought this was a place for helping each other not to offense others. If I sound like a 16 years old girl you sound like an 61 years old lady. Don't bother to answer what you don't like.

I've noticed something similar in that mine used to show the brake icon occasionally, and now it doesn't - it seems to me that it stopped occurring after taking mine in for it's first maintenance, and I believe there was a software update. I've tried to get it to alert, and I've not yet been able to force it to. It's on my list to ask them about the next time I'm in their neighborhood. My neighbor has an identical truck to mine and noticed the same with his, that it's not alerting him. What I can say is the adaptive cruise works just fine and supposedly they use the same system. There are other threads on here where this is discussed.

I forgot to mention that I bought it not with the factory Goodyear wrangler adventures 265/70/r16 instead They r bfgoodrich 265/75/r16 with the Same factory rims. But these tires are more aggressive and 1 inch bigger. Maybe this could be the reason ????

Now wait... which is it... a light that does not light up or the truck not actually braking? Two different things.

Haven't change the grill but a rock made a Crack in my windshield the same day I bought it. But wasn't up there, was at the bottom part on the driver side.

The light it's not showing, cruze control working perfectly but braking alert and brake assist not working at all.
