My son isn't very mechanically inclined but does know the difference between a flat blade and Phillips screwdriver.
I'm partially to blame I suppose because I've never been one to put on the proverbial kid gloves. He gets his feelers hurt too easy I guess. If I curse and swear, it's not directed at him, I guess the way I was raised my step dad never cut me any slack. I could use a cutting torch and welder at age 10.

My dad taught me a lot too from a young age and for that I am thankful. I try to fix everything I can, I don’t like paying people to do something I know I can do. I don’t work on air conditioners or automatic transmissions though :D

I somehow missed the new message notification and forgot to check this thread. Came in to 20 pages of messages after a couple days... hope I didn't miss anything important :D as for favorite Tacoma style, definitely 2nd gen. Toyota trucks in general though... would have to be the 70's trucks.

    Message notifications are spotty.
I just go to watched and look for the bold letters. Those have new postings.

My dad didn’t teach me anything except how to be a drunk.
Everything I learned was on me.
People learn by doing, not just reading.
I had service writers that had never worked on a car.
How in the fuck can they relay info to the cust.
Gotta start them off young and train them to learn and problem solve.
And not just equations…. (My big word for the day)

I was determined not to make that my job.
    My whole family were alcoholics.
    Never went down that road..
The most important decision to the positive I ever made.
    Congratulations to you sir.
I know how hard that is.
    Much respect.

Congratulations to you for not going down that road.

When my wife got pregnant with our son I finally quit for good. I told her if our son grows up to be an alcoholic he wasn’t learning it from his dad like I did from mine. Best choice I’ve made!
