Purchased my first new Tacoma and had new tires 265/75/16 and a TRD lift kit installed week one.

Meant to ask you. How did the balancing go with the FSW rims? I know Wildpeaks have had issues in the past, but was more curious of what to expect with rims. Going to ceramic coat the fronts today and wait until mounted and weights installed to the insides. Tks.

I ask the guy who did my install at the shop, and he said there wasn’t any issues. Didn’t go into any details and I wasn’t able to watch, so, I’m sorry I can’t report anything other than “no issue”.

How are you liking these tires? I'm thinking about getting the same ones on mine. How much did they effect MPG?

Love these tires. They look and ride great. Distinctive. I like the KO2's also but they're everywhere. Glad I got the generals to stand out a bit. I'm getting 17 City and 20-21 Highway, so the hit hasn't been too bad.

Anyone gotten this OEM lift put in who has SumoSprings (or similar) installed? Wondering if I get it done if they'll complain about that? The SS just replace the factory bumpstops, so not like there is much too them, but I wonder if they'd refuse to do it if they saw I had them in there.

Factory lift kit. Lomax tri fold Tonneau.
Because of the TRD lift kit on truck, I checked out how far I can get Front wheels off the ground of the truck using equipped jack/lift point on frame, it was just about 1/4” at full extension on a flat concrete surface. I Cut a block of oak for more height that fits in cubby, The Block works without carrying anything else. When I mentioned this to the dealer that the jack doesn’t raise the front end tires off the ground the best, ready! I should Call Road side assistance to change my tire. With that stupid answer, why do they bother putting a jack in at all?

I would have never thought about this. Thinking those of us that have Maxtrax or the like could probably use those to make up the extra height. Funny response from the dealer but I’m not surprised.

Those with experience in the "jack of all trades" TRD OR/Sport realm, what would you pair with the shocks I lieu of a block lift? I love that these trucks can do a little of everything. I'm looking to preserve that.

I'm would like mild to moderate capabilities in towing and hitting some trails. No rock crawling.

Would you do an AAL? If so, what brands do you like? Have you added sumo springs or airbags? Does that kill the off-road articulation, or do you just decrease the psi (if airbags)?

You all have gotten some killer deals on just the shocks.

Anyone who has had the lift kit installed hears a loud clunk noise? I hear a loud noise when on an incline or decline with the wheels turned. Any help is greatly appreciated. Should I take it back to the dealership?

Did this only happen after the lift? Tacos do clunk with no acceleration on an incline and no braking, when the hill assist kicks in. This is normal. But if you’ve never heard it before on the same hill pre-lift, then maybe something else.

Thank you for the reply. This only happened after the lift was installed. That incline is in my driveway and I’m the past one month since I have owned the truck I have never heard it before: maybe they did not torque the bolts to specifications. The ride itself is perfect and the car handles perfectly after the kit installation.

Yeah, if you had the dealership install, I would just take it back and have them figure out what’s going on. It’s under warranty, so shouldn’t cost you any more.

Or maybe one of the guys here who installed their own might have an idea.

I am planning to make that my first call tomorrow. The only issue is that the dealer who I took it too is not close to my house. Everyone in San Diego wants $1,600 just for the install. I was able to get the kit for $1,050 over the memorial weekend but wasn’t planning to pay so much for the install. This dealer charged me $1,250 for the install.

4Runner SEMA wheels. TRD Factory lift kit.
Just got the lift installed. Hard to tell a difference in the ride since I also had new tires/wheels installed. Total price was $2200 with alignment. Overall happy with the look.

Shocks will definitely fit but the lift kit comes with the radar , can’t be separated from the kit when ordered so to be safe, Toyota will say it doesn’t fit IMHO.
