Hard to tell from the video but the truck is working so much better with the new rear setup. Much more plush over the small to medium stuff allowing the bump zone to do its job on big hits. Never actually hit full bottom.

Front bypasses and swap the rears to some 3.0 5 tubes and this thing would be :bikewhoops:

Anti wrap kit came in so I should be getting that built up and installed here pretty quickly.

Anti wrap bar is in and a huge difference. It either still has some wrap or I now have some anti squat because the rear still rises a touch on a launch but It's no worse than it did with the dmz setup.

Well, buddy didn’t make it too far on our drive this morning.

    upload_2021-5-23_18-20-12.jpg

Tie rod bolt snapped and threw them into a sharp turn doing about 55mph last I saw on the gps. Luckily the turn scrubbed their speed down to about 20mph before a nice slow pirouette onto the roof.

Decided to finally get around to fixing my compressor wiring yesterday. Winter snow weather and some snow wheeling with relays and wiring pretty exposed didn’t make it last too long. Oops.

So I completely reran wiring for it, new relays, new switch, moved the relays and fuse to behind the back seat. Switch and some wiring are still exposed as are the compressors in the wheel well. But I sealed as much of what I could in there with some urethane so it should be weather proof. Still might try to make some sort of shield to half protect things from getting thrown up by the tires back there.

I tried to look for ( not very hard though) why you ditched the dmz hanger\shackle set up and went with the traditional style shackles but didn't find it. What was your reasoning?

Most of my friends up here are running jeeps on 40’s and one tons and I end up running big rock trails pretty often. I bent and fixed my low hanging DMZ hangers 3 times, beefing them up more each time. Rear end was apart for the tundra axle swap and figured I’d try to flip the shackle and get a little more travel out of the setup and ditch the low hanging shackle hangers. Granted the new shackles are quite long and hang about as low as the old hangers did, but they can move out of the way when in the rocks unlike the fixed hangers. Still 2wd until I can afford to regear the front so haven’t really tested out that last part yet but the theory and thousands of others running similar setups for rocks gives me promising feelings.

That makes sense. I can see how they could hit things in the rocks.

The super bonus is how much better it works in the whoops than it did before. Figured it would be a little bit better with the added travel but it’s 10x more plush at ride height and in the middle of the shock stroke.

Where did you see views count? I only see how many times it’s been shared which is quite a lot as well. Just curious.
