    ...on TRD Pro Grills?

I've considered buying a used one from a member here, but with shipping, it's really not much cheaper than a new OEM.

I've been looking at various aftermarket ones at different websites and ebay, butthey have wildly varying reviews on quality.

Some even state they are painted black over black plastic. WTF? Are the OEM painted. I would think a grill is the last thing I would want painted (well, next to the windows I guess) on a truck. Most susceptible to road debris, rocks, etc.

Can anyone make a good recommendation ??

If you haven't done so already, then the best thing to do is just google trd pro grills and go from there. Then also look on ebay, and between doing all that, you will come up with one that will suit you. I personally recommend "madhornets.com", as they are where I got mine from. I paid about $130 two years ago, and that included the sensor garnish. There is no need to purchase and OEM one for about triple the price, nor is there a need to purchase the OEM sensor garnish cover either. The so-called cheap chinese ones work perfectly fine, at least it does in my case. The problems associated with TSS when people switch out their stock grill for TRD Pro grills are well documented, with the socalled problem coming from the sensor cover. However, it has been proven that the cover is not the problem, but the fact that one needs to reaim the sensor itself, because of the difference in height in the placement of the sensor in the TRD grill as opposed to the placement in the OEM which is in the center behind the oval toyota logo. I have had mine now for two years+, and it continues to work just fine. Hope this helps...

No need to be a deuche.

I have looked at Ebay. Did you really think I haven't checked there, and Google? There are so many to search thru. Thought it might be worth a shot checking with the comrades here on TW. And sending a TW member some business. I guess you don't count as one of those, with the snooty reply, talking down to me like I'm a noob here that doesn't know how to use a search or something.

Ran a search here before asking. It seems most post concerning grills are telling others they installed one.

There was a guy here a long time ago, who was selling quite a few at a good price. I guess he had some issues eventually. His thread is closed.

Anyway, thanks for the response. It was soooooo very helpful.

And I'm a 2017, so don't have to worry about the TSS.

    Have a nice day, asswipe.

The Taco Garage has good quality and no TSS issues on aftermarket sensor. I added two washers and never looked back.

Not really. Just have a little extra time on my hands (waiting on an appointment at a tag office) to respond to those who want to "diss" someone under the guise of being helpful.... without actually being helpful to boot.

Thanks, barcelona7568. I was not trying to be as the guy said, a "douche", and I actually thought I WAS being helpful to him. I also told him that I bought from madhornets.com, which DOES answer his question. I went further to explain about the sensor cover. Of course, I didn't KNOW he had a 2017 because he did not SAY what year. And I don't think I would be alone in thinking that he had just bought a new one since he was thinking about switching out the grill. This though, was a great example of a problem with people today, in that there are people out there, that no matter what it is one is talking about, they will find something wrong with it. I could go outside, as I was just a few minutes ago, look up at the sky, and say "Wow, what a nice blue sky". Then there are people out there that of course, will respond with something like "Well, you know that really the sky isn't blue, but it is just a perception coming from the refraction of the sun's rays as they come through the atmosphere". I tried to be helpful and clearly what I thought was a pretty clear and nice answer, got misinterpreted. Thanks for the support!

By the way, I just went in and edited my original comment, just to TRY to please the person. I was only trying to help!

It happens man. Don't sweat it. I try to help where I can but when people start addressing the poster and not the post, well that just shows me they don't understand how the world works.
