Just waiting on a few things. Ideally someone will make a 38x10.5 to make my life easier. Then I need some money for 3.5BS beadlocks. The biggest hurdle is I need to learn how to weld better. Right now I suck. I'll practice in the garage until winter then start the process. Or I'll put it off because, lazy. lol

    I feel you on that.
I wish there were more tire sizes out there.
    I would love a 295/75r16 in a MT. And I don't really wanna go to a 17in wheel

I wheel on 17's. Never had a problem. There's plenty of sidewall and contact patch to go over just about anything. Expect some shit on Fordyce when it's rained the day before and mud is everywhere. Not even stickies would have helped that shit. 38's might have though. lol

Go through OEM racks every 2 years? lol

I've only killed one rack but I've bent the shit out of about 10 d-ring mounts. That's the part that always gives on my rig. With 35's I rebuild the front end every 6 months minus the rack. I figure on 38's that will go down to every 3 months.

I still can't believe you go through rack bushings that frequently.
My TC poly ones have held up since I installed them and don't really show any signs of bad wear.
    Must be 35's...

Do you find play in LBJ, OTR, & ITR at 6 months, or is it more of a preventative thing

I went back to rubber rack bushings. I'd rather that rubber give then the rack give. Maybe that's why I don't go through racks as fast as some other guys I wheel with.

There's always play in the LBJ's and the inners are usually slightly, or greatly, bent. The outers seem to hold up better but it's easy to just replace them for piece of mind. When I wheel I also carry spare spindles with SPC plugs in them and new LBJ's attached to them. As well as spare inners and outers. Plus a field weld kit. All that shit has been used for trail repairs. lol

    Ah gotcha.

Given the rig only gets used for wheeling, I guess I can see how those would go out so quick.

the question now is how much have you spent trying to maintain the front end and how far could you be into a well thought out 3 link by now?

I got my truck aligned right before I started cutting. Seems to be the golden standard when tubbing these trucks. :notsure:

God you're going to make me paranoid about the front end now. I can't imagine replacing LBJs, OTRs, and ITRs every few months, but maybe once a year during the downtime of Winter.

JV sounds fun, but expensive. :bananadead:

Possibly one day I'll go there with the truck still on IFS.

Lmao! Not at all wrong. Eliminating the point of failure removed the chances of it failing in the first place.
