Just have to get better running the new one one handed.

Slap the muffs/headphones on, crank up some 60's and 70's music and commence to butchering the lawn and terrorizing the moles.

You aren't "one handing" the control arms doing trim work. Straight line cutting, sure.

Tell that to the Husqvarna rider that came with my house.
All the innovations I’ve seen in this thread, and no one has thought of using an extra long straw? Nobody here been to Vegas?

New toy, 1953 Wisconsin twin, this is a rare one with a dry clutch and 3 speed w/reverse transmission. Long road trip - 683 miles round-trip. :bananadead:

Got the new Wisconsin off the truck before the rain.
The transmission is a Warner T-90 which was common in Jeeps and others back in the day (1953).
    KIMG1477.jpg

The "magic" part for repurposing is the standard splined output shaft under the sprocket.

This engine had a remote fuel tank originally, there is a priming lever that operates the fuel pump manually if needed.
This is a magneto ignition hand crank start job, you can't just whirl it over with the starter should you run out of gas.

Alright, folks, what would you do for blades on an X500 with the 48" deck? The machine I bought came with the factory mulching kit installed and relatively flat looking blades that I assume are also OEM (look pretty new though). For grass that isn't too tall the cut is excellent, but I found if the grass is tall and trampled down (like with the front tires) it doesn't do a great job lifting it to cut it and I have to go over it twice. My girlfriend's father also has the JD bagger for this machine that he's giving me so I'd need high lift blades for that - I'd probably only use it in the fall.

I was thinking about the Gator G3s so they'll handle both tasks. From what I'm finding, G5s won't work with the factory mulching kit but it seems like G3s will. I think I'd like to keep that since it's nice to not have discharged clippings all over the place (and I don't actually have the chute for this deck). That drove me nuts with my old Craftsman. Thoughts?

Cut wire going to the electric fuel pump. I thru on a quick crimp butt splice to verify it was the problem.
