If the TRD OR package doesn't get the same lift, I will be disappointed in Toyota. I almost feel like they could have called this the TRD Trail Edition and made it a superior or equal package to the OffRoad and Sport - they would just need to include fog lights and offer the Tech package (they might still be offering that on the Trail, who knows).

Will this be priced between the OR and Pro or between the SR5 and OR?

It lacks a lot of features the OR has so I'd guess between the SR5 and OR is where this thing slots in at.

Yes. Our 5 speed 4 runner is miserable to drive in any wind……minus a tail wind.

I think it’ll be just under OR/Sport pricing since it’s an SR5 with some extras. For DCSB V6 4x4, the MSRP for the current Trail Edition is $37,330 with the OR/Sport being a little bit higher.

As someone who was just about to buy a TRD OR, can you tell me what the trail is missing so I can properly compare the two? Thank you!

All the electric stuff except for the locker. The trail is an SR5 so you should be able to compare a current SR5 to a current OR to get a good idea of the differences.

Off the top of my head, crawl, MTS and push to start are probably the big ones. And the trail has no fog lights.

So do I, but crawl is amazing when used as a descent control. Seriously it lowers your crawl speed from whatever low is to a creep.

The TRD Off Road has a different brake system which I imagine isn't on the Trail. It'll also get A-TRAC which is super underrated.

The interior options will also be better in the TRD Off Road. Leather availability, better head unit, etc. Not sure what else the Off Road gets that the SR5 doesn't but it won't make the jump to the Trail.

Can you just install one of them? I realize you are still dealing with the wheel well, but how much space do you have between just one of them and the opposite side of the bed? Can you build a sleeping platform in that spot and keep the utility?

I think the TRD OR and PRO have a little larger rear diff
Does the trail get the power seat?

I haven't messed with crawl control so it's good to know it's worth it. I'm in Colorado, new to 4x4 and off roading so I'm not entirely sure what I should get.

Also the video clearly shows a PTS button so

I gotta think the Trail will have some upgrade options including a better head unit. I don't want leather which is why the Trail is appealing to me, to get the head unit and sunroof on the OR I'd need leather.

So I guess the main difference would be some of the tech, crawl control etc and the smaller 8' ring gear, if they are going with the SR5 drivetrain, I think the OR and Pro have the 8.75. Not a big difference but if they did that it would be kind of weird for a "trail" model to have the smaller diff.

Pretty sure I'm going to grab one of these. It's honestly exactly what I want. I currently have an SR5 that I put a small lift, rims/tires and fogs on. So this is pretty much as if I bought the SR5 and already has my planned mods (aside from the fogs.) And I really don't like leather interior. So I will certainly be considering this truck. I have to take mine in for frame inspection this summer, I guess while I am there, I will see what they will do on trade/price. If it doesn't work out, I'll just keep mine, no biggie lol.

The "leather" is so easy to clean though! Mud from the trails wipes right off, and dog hair vacuums out easier! Just my 2 cents. You do you!

No, I'm 100% open to opinion! My dogs don't shed but you're right, the cloth seats in my 2009 are a pain to clean. Do any of the 2021+ leather models have heated seats?
