Nah, guys and girls with 10k bikes don't need no stinking pool float disguised as a couch, nor a faux campfire. They shred some single-track then head to Moab with the Taco... BUT stay at a cabin so as to lock the bikes inside at night.... I might have seen this movie a couple times. :)

This is no surprise to me as they're trying to garner sales in the last couple years of a stale model before a brand new release.

But agreed, the OR doesn't make a ton of sense depending on how this gets priced out

I was wondering that too but it's not a deal-breaker since I had to add them to my current SR5.

I expect this thing to be Sub-40K. Any more than that and it seems sort of pointless, since you can easily get into a nicely equipped OR. But I am willing to sacrifice crawl-control, leather and a few other luxury mods, as long as they keep it around 40k or under. So fingers crossed.

Not a bad thought but I wouldn't think that’s the case since the Pro has fogs.

Just the fact you can't get a crew with a 6' bed kills it for me. Seems odd to have an adventure trim and not offer with the longer bed.

If it doesn't have crawl control that means it probably doesn't have the electronic brake booster either.

I suppose my lowly $5k non-carbon hardtail was meant for the bushes then.

It still kinda makes sense if you want all the tech/ use crawl control etc and want the bigger rear diffs. Now with the improvements on the Pro it does make the pro a bit more attractive to someone who doesn't want or need to mod. A lot of what I see on the trail is nice but it is mainly cosmetic, the lift is a nice touch but I think if I were going to build the truck from the ground up the OR or the base 4x4 still make sense.

Trail is taller, I think. I dunno, I've read too much about these 2 trucks that I'm not in the market for. I might be mixing stuff up at this point.

Maybe they are getting rid of the OR?

The Offroad is still going to appeal to everyone who was going to throw out the tires and suspension anyways. I'd be happy that they offered a truck with all the offroad goods and didn't add the inflated cost of a suspension and tires/coolers I didn't want.

The Trail Edition is perfect for people looking for a turnkey solution to fire road camping, and the Offroad still offers a great starting point to build something more capable.

It definitely makes for a more deep cleaning enema than at room temperature.

If I didn’t need a truck this summer I would cancel my 2021 order and order one of these, assuming it comes in a long bed.

In the Toyota promo video for the Trail edition (posted earlier in this thread), I saw push to start and heated seats on the interior. I would hope in 2022 models, those things are no longer considered high end luxuries. You can get push to start in the most basic of cars now.

Love the new colors on ‘22 Tacomas and M4’s. I will take one of each:

I rode full squish for years and still do (just not carbon fiber lol). I would say 99% of the runs in my state can be done on hard tail. Mine isnt no puppy either, rides like a bmx at the park and with a 160 upfront handles almost all the dh runs ive thrown at it.

Hardtails have made me way faster in the long term. Bouncers just soak up mistakes. Hardtails force your body to correct those mistakes by improving your core strength and choose better overall lines.
