15 years in Colorado and I've only seen a couple cats. They don't want much to do with humans. Same with bears really.
It's the moose you want to watch out for, they're ornery.

If you set them too close!

Or if you still have flashbacks. Let me tell you, it is damn hard to dive under a sleepingmat in a solo tent!

They are QUALITY! Easy as hell to carry and safe. I added a rubber disk (small washer) under the ring to help with grip when arming.

Note the company name is FITH and not fifth (5th). FITH is for Fire In The Hole!

I don’t even think you really need the spare mag for a bear, if you haven’t put it down in the first mag…it is what its gonna be.

One time I am pretty sure I had a bear sniffing right behind my head when I was sleeping in a tent. I had my Fiskars in one hand and bear spray in the other to be ready. But nothing happened.
Then while hiking in grand Teton a black bear and her Cub crossed our path 25 - 30 yards away. She was not at all aggressive or even interested in us...almost felt like she even didn’t recognized us. we had a shock of our life but now thinking about it I don’t think the bear was any thread to us because we left her alone.
Then the third time in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere someone tried to open our car while we were laying in the tent. Later I was looking at some videos on YT and seeing how bears know how to open the car I am convinced that it was a bear.

All these times nothing ever happened, so I would say as long as you follow the known rules you are going to be safe.

also I never saw or heard a big cat in Colorado tho

    You win!

I should have said so called wild predatory animals (not including humans)

Point being not a lot of adult, male, humans are are killed by cougars each year.

You've got a better chance of getting killed by 2 legged predators than the 4 legged ones.
