Shorts are supposed to be covered or borrowed. The SEC is supposed to be the enforcer. In the past year there has been activity that makes me doubt the short rules are being followed or enforced. I don’t think an all options are covered rule is enforceable.

I hope some of yall realize there's more than one hedge fund. There's probably a couple hundred various types of funds out there with a billion+ dollars to play with. Just cause one whale is on one side with AMC doesn't mean there can't be another on the other side. And remember how many of us here agreed that AMC moving up didn't make a whole lot of sense. There's a plenty big chance some dude at a random hedgie thought the same and had shorts out on it and is currently getting caught. Just as much as there's a big chance the same Citadel shorting GME or any other hedgie could be manipulating it up for whoodafuq knows why. Some of this kinda shit could even be for good reason(likely ain't since it's financials and most guys in financials are scum but it could be).

It ain't one huge fund with a sole duty to do evil towards retail traders :rolleyes::rolleyes:

oh of course, thats why i use "hedgies" plural, to essentially lump all institutional traders together, on the opposing side of the short from retail.

Then shalt thou count to three hedge funds, no more, no less. Three shall be the number of hedge funds thou shalt count, and the number of the hedge fund counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of MOASS towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.'
