It's like 95 out, and T-storms rolling in. This is the part where my area catches on fire until October.

It's probably only 20% humidity, but it feels like a damn sauna when you're used to 8%

I did find 370 acres of forest for sale on a lake up near Vancouver though. Come on GME, get your shit together.

So tomorrow we are going to see a pretty nice rise as all the 300,000 shares that were borrowed today come back. Seems their pattern is to let it go up, then short it down, then buy them back causing the price to go back up again. But each time they are doing this we end a little bit higher than we started out.

The CEO of AMC, ladies and gentlemen. You want to bet on a guy who can't be bothered to put pants on for an interview, or the guy that founded Chewy?

(in all fairness, it's like a 50% chance I have pants on for video calls, but at least I'm not dumb enough to knock over my camera)

Don't know. I just got home and my biggest concern is what NVDA will do tomorrow. I don't have a lot of swing trades going right now. Just NVDA, GTii and GME. So that's all I've really been watching. If NVDA cracks $690 again tomorrow I might dump it all except the one $600 I plan on exercising.

Also why is Powell speaking so early tomorrow? He's slated for 7AM EST. That's REALLY early for any Fed chair to speak. Non-farm payroll and Unemployment rate come out at 8:30AM EST. Tomorrow could be interesting.

He’s just gonna announce they aren’t opening the markets because of the imminent collapse GME will cause

    Powell:
"My fellow Americans. We were going to buy bonds to hopefully take some liquidity out of the market, which we absolutely know we shouldn't do, to buy us some time before we have to say 'inflation 'gon wreck y'all' to spray water on the money printer because it's red hot and it burned my hands."

"We are currently in talks with the finest craftsmen in Germany to have a new state of the art titanium money printer built. It should be here in 3 weeks, right about the time the whole system goes to absolute shit."

    "Good luck poors, Powell out"

IDK what he's gonna say. Maybe he's just got an earlier then normal tee time after the speech?

Yep. Futures are getting a little beat up but a strong jobs report will change that before open. A weak jobs report will make it a lot worse. Maybe Europe comes out of the gates strong and lifts US futures but the VIX is ticking up pretty quick.

A lot of different things in a lot of different contexts. Which context are you referring to? Like an example of what leverage is being talked about that is confusing

Most succintly, it's applying money that's not actually yours to an investment.

If you have $1,000 and the bank gives you $3,000 on margin, you're 3:1 leveraged.

i.e. the bank or brokerage has a lever against you.

Long story short, the ETF uses derivatives and/or debt to increase its buying power.

If the ETF wanted to buy one share of stock, they would pay the market price for one share for the fund. If they're leveraged 2 or 3 to 1, they will take on debt or use options to buy additional shares
