Some midwestern vehicles are 82% vise-grips by weight. The rest is rust.

Thinking about taking the alcans apart, getting them sand blasted and painted.

As usual, I've booked time off with having only the loosest vacation plans.

 

no point. rough them up and paint them as is. pulling them apart and painting them will just end in rust within a few months.

 

I kinda wanna replace the friction pad things mostly.

I guess I could probably just flex them and pry bar for that

 

full droop and a wedge. thats how i do it.

 

So I just pulled up to the hockey rink and my buddy that sunk his FJ in the wash last year apparently saved it...parked right out front. Gonna be curious to hear how he pulled that off, was certain that thing was done for being up to the top of the wheels in nasty city wash water for 12 hours. Kinda wanna open it up and see what it smells like inside.

 

I’ve got a fj coming in next week to get a new motor... it lost a fight with water.

 

Yeah his started up and he was able to drive it about a quarter mile after getting it pulled out with a tractor, then it stalled and died. Had to get it towed from there. I'm sure it has electrical gremlins, it has to.

Looks clean from the outside though lol
