Took it to the woods for some camping, riding and wheeling. And then almost drowned it apparently thanks to my ghetto snorkel taking in rain water from the tire after driving 2 hours in torrential storms.

    It's not a real snorkel, it's this:

Ad it's actually held up well for 3 years since I put it in. Problem is the metal part rusted and started breaking at the joint to the plastic tubing. But I've had water up to my windshield before in a water crossing and the box only had a little water in it after that. The other thing to note is that I plugged the drain holes in my airbox after installing this setup.

In order to get home I took my knife and drilled two drain holes back into the airbox and got a new filter. Truck stopped bogging at high RPM's and got me home but the new filter was still pretty wet from water vapor.

Thankfully I have a real snorkel in the garage that I haven't had the time to install yet.

nah. Just going to delete it. Waiting on some more gaskets and O-rings to arrive and then I’ll be moving the oil filter to the front and the oil cooler block off plate to the back.

That amount of water is crazy, that shouldn't happen with a regular dorkel just driving through rain.

I've only checked a few times but I have seen a little bit of water in the air box after driving through a big storm on the highway. Not even enough to register on the air filter though, just a few drops in the corners of the box.

New air filter, and replaced the light in the shifter- I was able to get the condom off the old light and put it on the new one.

Tomorrow is replacing the bushings of the shifter

I thought the best part was the next day, when you said, "I'm going to take it easy this time." But you couldn't resist.

Replaced the power steering pump. Thank you ebay and Timmy the Toolman at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5k61KXRK8bM
Thing was becoming a bit of a headache, as the rebuilt pump I first installed from O'Reilly's turned out to be a dud.
Anyone looking for a step-by-step breakdown of how to do a ps pump install and flush on a 1st Gen, check out that vid. It helped me out a lot.

Do you guys prefer to run Toyota fluid for the power steering? or would a fluid from the vatozone or local store be ok? What about the coolant? For the wifes old lexus I grabbed a red coolant and it worked fine.

Coolant I pick up the big jug from the parts dept at the dealer. Power steering I would use any Dex III ATF you can get at the auto parts store, Yotas use ATF for the PS fluid.

OK Gents, need your expertise. I have a 2001 2RZ-FE 5-Lug Manual that won't start. If you crank it and stop crank it and stop 3 times, usually it'll fire the third time but will immidiately die. If you hold the RPM's up it'll stay running but die when you let off the gas.

I was told it could be the IAC, Any ideas? Battery 12v, alt produces nominal 14v when running.
