I don't know if this is the right area to post this question.

I'm looking for a SD micro card reader. I don't know which one to get. The advantage over one brand to another.

Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!

Your PC or laptop doesn't have a port for this? Or are you trying to use it elsewhere?

I've always had good luck with SanDisk stuff.

The laptop SD Card Reader doesn't work.

I don't know if the plastic adaptor that comes with the card might be junk.

Have you verified the the mirco is good by using it successfully in another device?

The adapter doesn't do anything but position the card. If it was too buggered it probably wouldn't even go in the port.

Do you have a 'regular' SD card to test it with, or only the micro and it's adapter?

I verified the USB port is working. I use a USB light and charge my phone using the port.

I tried 2 different SD card and adapter with no luck. Someone my friend know tried the SD card with his reader and the cards themselves work as they should. His only suggestion was to get a good card reader.

I have no regular size SD card to try in the laptop SD reader port.

    One of us is confused.

A USB port is not the same as an SD card slot.

Speaking as a full time professional photographer, I only use SanDisk cards and card readers.

Yeah, you're confusing US. You initially indicated that your SD card slot will not read your micro SD card in an adapter. You also said that your USB port DOES work. The adapter linked to above accepts a micro SD card and plugs into a USB port. Seems like that's what you need.
