Where to place auxiliary light switch?

Hello,

I'm wondering where to place an auxiliary light switch. The only non-used blank I have is down by the A-Trac switch and cigarette lighter. Not the handiest place for such a driving/fog light switch.

I was thinking of placing a small switch on the vertical face of the center console.

So where else have others placed an extra switch that is close at hand? Easy to reach while driving. Would like to see what others have come up with.

i am actually making something to put my switches into now. i have an aftermarket head unit so i have that blank space under the CD player. i am cutting a piece of metal to fit there so i can put my switches in. ill get you some pics in a little bit.

You could just use another oem fog switch & file it where it'll fit in a different position on the panel. You can get the oem connector and 4 pigtails to wire it into the aux wiring harness and it'll be all factory looking. That's what I did but mine is base model so plenty of open spots in the panel.

That is the issue, no "blanks" left on my dash that are easily reached while driving.

Only blank left is by the Atrac switch.

I have a double cab with a AT. There is a little removable tray that takes the place of a MT's E-brake pull handle. I'm planning to make a face for that for 4-5 switches out of Stainless.

You forgot to add 5.00 each for 4 pigtails and 3.00 for the connector so another 23 on top of the switch. All depends on whether you want it to be factory or have aftermarket added on looking stuff or fabricate something for another place. It would be silly to use something besides all the existing empty slots in a base model empty panel. Full panel is different story.......

 

How about the steering wheel controls?

The right side of my wheel, which could've had the Bluetooth option are blank.

Has anyone wired light switches there?

 

i would love the OEM look - but i cant spend $65 on a switch when i can do something that looks fine and works the same for $4 and a dremel.

 

It didn't turn out like what I had in my brain. It's basically a C channel of bent stainless with 5 pre-drilled holes and bent to stand up from the angle of the tray. Not mounted yet but will likely be done with some crazy strength double sided 3M tape as it'll hold well enough yet not be a perminant fixture. With some added time and a few beers you could probably fill that entire hole up.
