Hi all, just as the title says, i have a paddle of water on my floor matt every time it rains.
I replaced my windshield last year and i have a moonroof. The shop that replaced my windshield said that its most likely the moonroof but im kinda skeptical about that.
Its coming from under the dash and i can see the trail of rust going towards the left A pillar.
    Anybody had similar problem ?

    Thank you

Is the drain for the moon roof cleaned? It’s the first thing I would look at if I had a moon roof and found water in my truck.

3rd brake light leak. most commonly seen on the 2017 Tacoma's and its also a very common description of that issue. The gasket between the lens and housing has probably separated.

*the third brake light is the light above the bed

All the water from my brake light leak was behind the rear seat.

Update: Took apart the dash, the left side cover for the A pillar has water in it, the roof liner was wet right under the panel as well, i still dont see a clear place of where its coming in from but im getting closer, looks like it is coming from the moonroof :(((

Is it coming from the 3rd brake light? Take a hose and run water over the 3rd brake light. Check the moon roof drains and make sure they are not backing up.

    good luck

Update: Its the windshield. I turned on a water hose and directed it on the left side of the windshield but in a way so that there is no water around the moonroof and i can see the drops starting to roll down the pillar....

Little of this, little of that.
Hopefully whoever installed your windshield will warranty their service.

Our windshield leaked after we had to have it replaced on our 17. However, they said it's due to aftermarket windshields now having as good as a seal. Had to have it done three times before getting a OEM windshield installed.

Glad you found it. It's a good reminder to check the 4 drain holes for the moon roof nonetheless. Just a good habit to get into even though issues are rare.

Did the windshield fix it. I have a 2017 TRD Sport as well and has the same leak. It is the original windshield and mind was leaking while just sitting there in the rain.

Yeah, i took it back to the shop that replaced the windshield, they did something and its dry now, the guy blamed it on toyota gaskets but i think he just did a shitty job sealing it. If you have full coverage car insurance they might cover it, i wouldnt wait either, under the dash it looks like there is a metal brace bar, its not painted, since the water was dripping down it, it developed rust, i sprayed oil as much as i could and my guess is that by the time itll rust through, the truck will be in the junk yard but still sucks... Also if you planning to take the dash apart, right behind the dash there is writing printed on the plastic support and it says "Taco". Which is wierd cause its how the owners call it usually, its not an official name but yet its there, little easter egg
