working in banking, my guess is a divorce situation and he's just trying to get out from under a loan he can't afford on his own (or simply doesnt WANT to afford)

been seeing a lot of that unfortunately... 30ft trailers going for 15-20k because "that's what we owe"

Or having to paying her/him more money due to having more liquid assets (if the truck was paid off) under their name is another possibility. (been there, done that lol)

yeah, when all this COVID stuff happened, I was joking with one of my coworkers who was working remotely (had her kid screaming in the background) "haha thought I loved my family 'til COVID"

Then the divorces started rolling in after like 5-6 months and oh boy... I had one couple that couldn't even be in the building at the same time without trying to rip each other's throat out

    sad shit to see :rain:

Haha! I wish, by the time I get to see these kinds of deals, there's usually already a buyer and I'm booking the loan for 'em

That sale was messy as hell though

If I bought that truck, I’m pretty sure my wife would divorce me.

It's hard to imagine that the WA inspection is any more stringent than the OR one. It's been a few years since I've done one, but my experience is that they check to make sure you have receipts to match the serial numbers for major parts that were replaced and that's it. They are there to make sure you aren't running a chop shop and nothing more. Maybe it's changed since the last one I did, but I doubt it.

Always pull back carpet in trunks a climb underneath and pop hoods and look before buying. My Wife worked for a special financing car lot the put a lot of lip stick on wrecked rigs to get them ready for the bank to look good at a couple grand back of book and sell 18%-24% loans to prey on people with bad credit. It’s quite the racket when you realize what’s really going on and who’s getting paid. The customers come back in after their car gets a flat tire and there’s broken taillight lenses and hammered sheet medal where the spare tire is. Customers get mad and threaten to sue but they bought a used car as is and the owners laugh in their face because they have more money and better lawyers. It’s a shitty business and she quit because she couldn’t stomach the deception.

We are looking for property in eastern washington or along a lake further west, but anything in WA is getting snatched up with everyone working remotely (like me). I would like to be able to drive to my vacation property in ~6 hours rather than a few days.
