Not a Taco, but I finished my JT Magnuson install. Just waiting to get my ECU back to fire it up.

I’m no Jeep hater or anything but that has got to be one of the least attractive engine bays I’ve ever seen

Dude, not hating either, but I was gonna say how cramped that bay looks!

Positive note, congrats on the SC!!

Lots of bolt on chrome stuff
After being prompted by something else on this forum I bought the torque app so I could check fuel trims. Short term are fine, but my long term fuel trims on bank 2 are a bit high at idle or low rpm driving. Bank 1 is 0-3% and bank 2 is 8-12%. With some throttle applied (normal driving, moderate rpm) bank 2 ltft drops way down to 3-4%. No codes or anything, but I'm wondering what would impact only bank 2 and only at idle. Any ideas?

4.0, TRD blower and kit installed by dealer years ago, TRD flash, airflow snorkel for an intake, stock pulley

The JL/JT does have a very cramped bay, mainly due to the Wranglers external body design, but there is lots of very well thought out stuff in there. Belt changes are actually much easier than the 4.0 Tacos, you do have to remove the intake tube and alternator but that is very easy to access with 4 bolts right in the front of the alternator. With an electric fan and the alternator out of the way you have crazy room and plenty of front engine access. The blower runs on the main serpentine so there isn't a secondary belt, where you need to shred your hand/arm into the shroud to access. Belt changes are a super easy job to do solo, which isn't the case with the 4.0 Taco. The OEM 270A alternator (vs Tacos 135A) is high mounted for water/mud crossings, the intake has an internal snorkel to draw air from the max height possible for water fording, the factory aux fuse block also has dedicated in cab aux switches, OEM AGM battery with a dual battery setup, extended breathers for everything for water fording. Ect. It is busy, and the blower certainly made it moreso, but there is a bunch of features packed in there too.

So I've heard actually. (Coincidentally it was from you)

Call me the minority here, but I thoroughly enjoy the foreign language of Russia and Germany. :notsure: I personally wouldn't mind getting a da or nyet as far as lines of communication goes.

That snorkel is what is making me wonder, you may want to eliminate it first and then go from there.

Also, what fuel pump are you rocking? From the sounds of it, you are all stock, and those fuel pumps are documented hot garbage.

At least they don’t place the alternator on the back of the engine like the Germans do. Woo let’s make it fancy and water cooled and require an engine pull to change!

Oh the Russian language is great. Very smooth. My knowledge of Russia doesn’t go very far though. Vodka, their women are hot, and I can order a wife, that’s about it :anonymous:

It’s okay I’ve got a gas saving RAV4 prime on the way so I can drive around on all electric when the Lexus runs dry

I'm good with all of that. At this point a mail order hot wife who just wants my money sounds good. At least I know what her MO is all about.

SF Toyota has them at $2k over but they’re sold out and most of them are reserved until next year.

Work with Indian or middle eastern guys. Eventually they’ll try to arranged marriage you lol

bet the same can be said for our trucks. much demand, little availability. my coworker has been hassled for a month by the dealer to buy back his '13 for what he paid for it.

20210515_144839.jpg perspective- my truck isn't fast. but for a tacoma it can hang. got my old truck back i bought new 20 years ago. V8 dakota. great for a dd. used to think it was badass. just drove the tacoma in 2 weeks.
new appreciation for it. it could outrun that V8 with 2 flat tires.
