Well, my dealer called me today and basically told me my build was probably going to be unattainable. He said I could keep on waiting, but that it’s a unique enough combo that Toyota isn’t guaranteed or likely to build it in the foreseeable future. I have a hard time disagreeing with him because nationally I only ever seen 3 or 4 for sale ever. He offered to return my deposit if I’d like. Pretty bummed right now.

I ordered mine a week ago. They told me they already attained one and will get it end of July.

Dealer now tells me my ORAC built May 5 ( Guanajuato ) is scheduled to arrive June 7 - 9 to to my Denver area dealer, previous update said June 7 -14 (which I never believed), but maybe they prove me wrong and I was too pessimistic perhaps. I swear it is like pulling teeth getting updates, always have to ask - and response always gives impression sales is 'bothered' by the request, oh well - paying MSRP (less small local incentive) - let them be 'bothered'. Maybe dealershipp treats their sales staff bad, idk. good luck to those waiting.

My temp VIN stopped working yesterday, texted the dealer for an update. All I got was a screenshot that shows the truck, the VIN, "Check Code: 4" and "In Transit". He said it hasn't shipped and they don't have an ETA but it says "in transit". It is like pulling teeth to get any info. You'd think a $45000 purchase would warrant a little hand holding but then again, the sales guy is probably only making $500 so what does he care? Except I know that as of right now, I'd never buy from him again.

I called up the dealership instead of directly to the salesman that took my deposit(2/18). The new salesman said the truck isn't even allocated yet! Found the truck I 'ordered' from another dealership a few hours away, but of course it was spoken for already. Asked if I could place an order with them said it would take 6-8 months :facepalm:This is brutal

I feel horrible for all these folks that have been waiting for months and have been strung along by some of the dealers.

I don't think I could wait as long as you guys have. I hope it all works out for all of you.

It might be more effective if you called dealers and asked them what they had allocated to them (no matter what configuration) that is not already reserved. Then you could ask them to tweak it with minor changes. At least then it would be yours. Asking to find the truck already configured is much less likely.

Saw this in a robmotive video. He spoke to a sales guy on camera. Supposedly, Toyota is selectively releasing trucks until third quarter and then they will flood dealerships with 2021s right before 2022 is ready for mass production.

This is what I was led to believe. They printed out a spec sheet with with the right color and tech package, but with extra packages that I didn't care to have like the black out kit, bed lights, and black exhaust tip. The sales guy told me he would ask the factory to remove some of them, but it wasn't a guarantee. I was fine if they couldn't remove them in the end. I was gonna black out the emblems myself anyways. But, seems now he was lying and hoping to get that order.

I ended up calling a dealer near Seattle and they found 10 trucks in production with the specs I wanted and they are gonna try and do a dealer trade so fingers crossed! I should know within a week if it goes through.

Just joined the forum as a first time Tacoma buyer. Figured I would chime in with my wait time. Paid deposit for truck on May 14 and was told yesterday to expect delivery July 19-26. DC TRD OR Premium in Voodoo. Not holding my breath on that date though. Dealer has said several dates up until this point and it just keeps getting pushed.

Update: Picked it up today! Still a little stunned bc I absolutely did not expect to take delivery today. Thought I was going in just for a trade evaluation, lol. In short, placed deposit for a march allocation on 1/31. From there, very liitle info as the dealer had none to offer. Took delivery today, 6/5/21. Approximately 4 months wait time. Cement dcsb OR mt w/ tech & led pkg. Also, I was only given 1 fob/key and 1 valet. 2nd to be available free of charge at a later time due to supply shortages.

My DCSB TRD OR manual came with two keys. It was a recent build. Took delivery (5/29/21) within 24hrs or it's arrival.
I was glad to get two remote "H" keys.

Guys, relax.. i’m comming from the new 6G bronco forum and those guys have been waiting for over a year with no build date in sight.. needless to say that’s why i’m eyeing up a tacoma. 3-4 month wait would be amazing! Of corse what im looking for isnt available around here so i’m going to have to have it built to my specs. Can’t wait to row some gears again. My old 97 4runner sure was good to me, even tho the rear diff sprung a leak and couldnt find one anywhere that wasnt rusted thru also.

I came here from the 6G forum too. I bailed on my Bronco at order time and ordered a Tacoma instead. Still waiting with no word. It's like I'm living the Bronco all over again. I likely would have been a fairly early Bronco build and I'm wondering which would have been first. Should have ordered them both and just taken whichever arrived first.

At least a Tacoma will have a manual and a bed. I've always had a truck. The configurations which you could get a manual Bronco in were just as silly as the Tacoma. The Tacoma worka for me in the manual. With the Bronco I was settling for the auto.
