Fog light cross reference

Is it possible to fit a 3rd gen fog light on a 2.5 gen. Note my truck didn’t come with them

 

If you use only the top screw to secure the fog like 3rd Gen, rather than both like 2nd Gen, it should be yes. Note 3rd Gen had some very low performing H16 fogs on some trims, so be sure to avoid those.

 

My dealer said that 3rd gen and 2.5 gens have the same fog light part numbers, so how would that be possible to just secure it by one screw. My rig didn’t come with fog lights so Im ganna have to make my own harness

 

5 lug? Probably.

6 lug? It may be partially pre wired. Look closely.

I don’t have the switch for one and mine is base

 

Pre wire doesnt include a switch.

Look for unused wiring behind other light positions.

 

Are the same PN? That would be for the H11 fogs if so, since H16 fogs are 3rd Gen only. If they are then there shouldn’t be any issues, if not worst case is you use one morning screw vs two, like 3rd Gen.

 

My regular cab non sr5 is just bare bones like manual window do it yourself mirrors, no intermittent wipers. But with that being said, what am I looking for. Cuse I have dummy switches and no wires behind them

 

Where would that be printed on them. Found some used ones that I’m interested in

 

Easiest is to look at what bulbs are installed, H11 or H16. Or what vehicle they came out of, all 12-15 fogs or 16-19 non-Canadian TRD trucks.

? Both fogs have holes for 2 mounting screws. 3rd Gen just uses 1 for install.

 

I have 4 and noticed that it’s the same for a 3rd gen. Is it possible that the spacing between each bolt hole is different

 

Sorry for the confusion, the fogs have 4 holes yes. But 2 insert into tabs and have no screws. On 2nd Gen 2 are used for screws. On 3rd Gen only 1 is used for a screw.

Yes. But H16 is 3rd Gen only.

 

I’m looking at getting 3rd gen lights with h11, and what I’m concerned about is if they r really going to fit in the same housing that my fake plastic ones went in
