    Hey, have you ever ordered from Yota Garage out of Salt Lake? I ordered my kit from them, they had in stock. I originally was planning to go with Bilstein 5100s all around, but they had 6112s/5160s inventory so I got those instead. Good luck.

    Great setup! Can I ask how long ago you did the lift? Find it’s settling down closer to 2”? Or do you have 650# springs giving you that 2.5”? I want to do something similar, but want to be at 2” long term. And how much work was your tire fitment, cmc and trimming? Thanks!

    Thanks. Its been about a month now, and day of lifting it was an almost 3" lift in front. Since then, I've driven a few trails to let the coils do its work and its lowered to just above 2.5", but I expect it to lower a little bit more. Its on 600lb springs (the default springs that came w/ 6112s). My truck has always riden a bit higher when stock, and my 'driver lean' was less than 1/2 inch. I guess every truck is different. My hope was to avoid any trimming and/or CMC on 285s. So far, so good. Of course on rugged off-road driving I expect to rub, but for driving on pavement or trails I'm happy with results. I suppose the wheel offset could be a factor as well, these TRD SEMA wheels are just 17x7 with +4 offset I believe.

    I didn't have to call them, I just got lucky. When I was searching around online and saw that they were in stock, I emailed their sales team to make sure that they were the correct ones that I needed. They replied very quickly assuring me that everything was what I needed and I placed the order. They sales rep told me that they had gotten a shipment in the day before of about 100. They were the only place that wasn't backordered also.

    Sure. It kind of is a PITA but very doable. The first thing is that you need to take the shock off of the truck. Grab yourself a spring compressor.....(A GOOD RELIABLE ONE) and compress the spring. The take off the top hat of the shock (remember the order in which you took all of the pieces off.......very important) and pull the strut out of the spring. Then, with the help of a buddy, take some vise grips to the middle of the "Moon Circled" clip and have your buddy about to pull. Then you take 2 small "punch awl's" and prop them underneath the two ends and pry them out while your buddy pulls the middle of the clip with the vise grips. Putting it back in the new clip ring is easier. I just used some squeeze handle wood clamps. Then put the spring back on the strut, install the top hat (Please remember to install all of the pieces of the top hat in order), tighten to 20 ft lbs, and slowly release the spring compressor. Please make sure that the spring goes on the exact way you took it off. The bottom of the strut is the 60mm end and the top of it is the rod end. The spring should go on with the numbers of the spring being able to be read while looking at the truck normally, don't put it on upside down. Then install it back on the truck. DO NOT over torque the three top hat bolts (47 ft lbs) or the bottom bolt that attaches to your LCA (61 ft lbs)

    I can see no numbers or anything on my springs when looking at them on the truck. I had Wheelers assemble them. Does that mean they are on incorrectly? What is the downside to this? Your post are always very informative, so thank you!

    Somewhere on the spring it should look like this....if it doesn't......they might have put eibach brand springs in there. If they did, bilstein will not validate the warranty. Are the springs completely black?

    Eibach is the manufacturer of springs for Bilstein.

    I completely agree with you, the only problem is, is that when I spoke to Bilstein directly when I switched over from 600 pounds springs to 650 pounds springs, they told me that they get the springs from eibach, test them, and then recoat them and brand them with their label and number to make sure that it was tested to be the right poundage. This is why Bilstein is so picky about what springs go on their shocks. I guess they are fickle lol.

    I did not realize they were that particular. I wonder if it is for real, or just for marketing?

    I suppose I shouldn't tell them I'm running Eibach 700 lb springs....

    that is actually a very big no no lol. in speaking with one of the managers over there, they had stated to me that if anyone chose to put a 700 pound spring in the 6112's it would not only void the overall warranty, but also could potentially be dangerous because the shock itself was only made to fit up to a 650 pound spring and there is a possibility that it might break through the top hat of the shock. I know that a lot of people run the 700 pound spring recognizing that it fits and even some dealers sell 700 pounds springs with the 6112's but Bilstein themselves state that it is highly discouraged and not recommended for safety. Just passing along the information.

    I've heard that. I have never heard of a problem running the heavier springs - not saying it's right.

    From what you said, it sounds like the limitation is the top hat not the shock itself.

    I've been running mine for 2 years, on 2 different sets of 6112s. (I replaced the first set after 130,000 miles.). I'm also running in the top clip slot, with maximum preload (and lift.). I guess when I replace these, I will replace the top hats as well.

    Just installed the 6112 with 600lbs spring and on setting 5/4 and only have 1 inch over stock. I was expecting to get closer to 2 in with this setting. I have sliders but no extra weight up front. Don’t understand how I only got 1 in. Checked the serial number of the springs and it matches for the 3rd gen 600lbs spring. I also installed with SPC upper control arms. Any ideas why I only got 1 in of lift?

    Yes I did. Let me back up and say I bought a used trd Offroad with stock suspension that had spacers up front. Center of hub to fender measured 22.5 in. Now it measures 22. I have read that a stock 3rd gen is 21 in from stock. I was expecting to be around 23 in but maybe what I read was incorrect about stock height being 21in in the front??
