    :(

I'm visiting friends near Bear Creek this weekend.

I was hoping to come down Saturday for a few hours, but it's over 3 hours of driving round trip and we have stuff going on Saturday evening.

I think I'm off around 4 if you make it to Madison. I'll grab a beer with you!

hey! where's the best place to get a truck lifted locally? just looking for some bilstein 5100s.

i live outside of madison but would be willing to travel to milwaukee or further.

i got a quote from a place in madison but the general impression i got was that they didn't seem all that excited/willing to do it.

If you're just swapping shocks and coilovers, you can literally do that in your driveway with a buddy. Also, lead times are a little ridiculous with suspension parts due to global shipping slowdowns.

    Welcome!

There's a shop in Waukesha called Performance Off-road that I have worked with. They built a custom skid plate and did my BMC. They're good guys.

    Or...

    ^^This^^

If you're at all mechanically inclined, a lift can be installed in a day with the right tools.

Do it in your driveway. Or sweet talk one of the locals to borrow theirs and assist.

it’s like a 3 hour job if you move slow. Step by step vids on YouTube. That’s how I did mine.

Gentlemen...today is a day of days.

I am soon to be the owner of a JDM 1995 HDJ81 Turbodiesel Land Cruiser, or commonly called an 80 series - solid axle front and rear (coilovers) with a center locking differential, right hand drive, and the 1HD-FT diesel at 137k miles.

This one, to be specific - I'm kinda freaking out:

Are you going to be modifying it? Or keeping it stock?

Over time, I intend on modifying it - basically an extended travel touring vehicle that will be highly capable.

Yup! I'm required to due to Wisconsin gray market vehicle rules - have to own at least one domestic vehicle to have a gray market import. I'll probably register this under Hobbyist, as I will be modifying it from stock. The Tacoma will be useful for projects and as a daily anyway.

This is a long ways off, but sort of what I'm going for, just to give you an idea - same color to boot, Moonglow Pearl:

What’s your address? Are you armed? How easy will it be for me to rob you of this beauty?

I’m drooling right now. If you want to ship it to my house and keep it there forever let me know.

    Whelp, bad news dudes.

Though we spoke today after an auction and verbally agreed to a price and process, the seller (private importer in Texas) had a local buyer offer more money and accepted it; I was set to transfer a deposit tomorrow before a trailer arrived next week for transport. Very bummed, but it is what it is. The search continues!
