They might, but cutting stainless steel cable is a lot harder than those exhaust pipes. Each cable they cut with a battery powered saws-all will take longer than both exhaust pipes.

Anyone try installing the 7-foot Cat Strap in a Y- or U-shape across both converters on a 2nd-Gen?

Our CAT got pinched off our ‘98 4Runner at 5:30am in front of our house - nice neighborhood in Denver. Sawzall took less than 2 minutes. They were gone by the time we woke up and ran out the front door. Local garage says he’s seeing 20/week. Now I’m trying to replace that one ($1,300 - $3,500 depending on whether they can salvage some of the parts) and keep my Tacoma CATs protected.

No, it's because in other countries being a scumbag has consequences and is less likely to repeated. Either by citizens protecting their property or by imprisonment in a facility that doesn't have color TV, AC, wifi, and (reasonably) decent food.

    It's a protected lifestyle here.

The cutout is to allow air to pass through and prevent excessive heat build up.

I seriously doubt cat thieves don’t know there’s a cat back there.

Question; would any of the skid plates also cover the Cat? Like the full length ones?

I'm just going to epoxy some M80A1 rounds under a shield to it.

Brass casings won't pierce the cat but will take out your face. It will also prove how stupid you since a dozen of them will get you more than a cat at a salvage yard in my area.

So lesson is. Don't approach un-armed, and the second these shit heads so much as move like they are going to draw their "problem-solver" slot them as much as need and keep slotting till they don't move.

I have more respect for runaway shoplifters who only fight to get away than these animals who will chase down and attempt to kill in cold blood over less than a ben.

Looks Great. Can you provide the dimensions of the added plates, as I have aluminum skids on order so I can have 1/4" aluminum pre cut to weld on new trans skid before install. Thanks in advance.

4''x15'' is what i got but if i would have done it again and measure better, i would have done 5''x17'' for better coverage...

1/8” aluminum should add like 30 sec to the cutout. Any proper steel saw is going to plow through that.

Yes, I hear you. there is an "HD upgrade coming soon"
I wonder if it would be thicker aluminum.
