Hmmm...it appears Stitch has an O2 sensor bad.

I think those exposed inside wires indicate a problem...definitely need xfercase skid. Live and learn. :)

Well, I don't "baby" Stitch...I bought him for exactly how I use him. I'm actually not upset about it. :)

And on further investigation, I was on the wrong side, I assumed bank 2 was passenger side...it's actually driver side. Inspection of bank 2 sensor 2 reveals the pins completely pulled out of the connector...which makes the fix a clean kill. :D

On my way to parts store. I'll snap a few pics and explain repair once I get Stitch on the ramps.

    O2 Sensor Story
Last Friday when coming down off the mountain, I noticed a clack-clack sound with the front diff engaged. I thought I had a stick in the front propeller shaft. When I got home I discovered the rubber boot at the xfercase end was torn and the clack-clack was the long end of the torn rubber hitting the frame when the shaft spun (why only in 4WD). I have an appt Monday to have the boot replaced.
Pic of the boot zip-tied up; secured it before I went back to the mtn Monday:
    62E630D5-17F4-491A-9557-2D86C3ED2E6E.jpg

Yesterday (Fri) when I got ready to leave the mtn for the drive out, Stitch threw a check engine light:
    B6F33D5D-EB2B-459E-9FE3-03B2F332D150.jpg

Used my BlueDriver for the first time; highly recommend this product. Light decoded to:
    E1EA84BE-C311-4A5A-BB74-9638E2F8AB6D.jpg
Found this, note this is same area as torn boot:
    E2F0255E-2AD9-4035-BBA7-403C629E0C55.jpg

My local NAPA had the sensor for $62 with military discount ($93 reg price), and I bought an oxygen sensor claw foot wrench for $8 mil discount ($13 reg price):
    29449770-B5E1-4EC7-BC6E-230C20B43C77.jpg

    Removed sensor:
    CF9B9181-6E56-4433-8FAC-B8A3ABDD61DA.jpg
    Discovered plugs are not identical:
    A5458111-552D-4FF5-A61B-94E1D6A13EC9.jpg
After this I spent an hour looking for a pin out diagram for what color wire went to which pin location, tried one configuration which was wrong and brought new codes:
    F5265297-A381-41DD-8563-3FEF91345D9A.jpg
Finally it dawned on me to look at the bank 1 sensor 2 plug and set the pin configuration identical to it. Did so and Stitch is happy again, which makes me happy. :)

I reinstalled the old sensor and kept the new one on the shelf, as I'm sure I'll need one however many years down the road.

I'm pretty sure the damage occurred when we sowed the grass seed in the pasture last Thursday (9 days ago). I believe a root speared that area as I was crawling around the pasture in 4Lo tractor mode while Danny sat on the tailgate with the seed thrower. I left the pasture in 2Hi, and didn't use 4WD until Friday morning, when I noticed the clack-clack. I have no idea why the code didn't show until 8 days later, other than I reckon it took that long for the pins to work completely loose and break contact. :notsure:

But now I know a little bit about O2 sensors.

Yesterday Deb and I attended a wedding celebration for a friends son. They got married last year but due the covid they couldn't have a real wedding. So it was yesterday. The ceremony was outdoors(wish I had shorts and flip flops on) and it was hot. The party-ing was indoors with no AC. But it was still a great day.20210605_152758.jpg 20210605_172340.jpg 20210605_185633.jpg
Demo day on the breakfast bar. Then I need to patch the walls where the pantry came out then install a couple of valves for the hot and cold water and done (until the middle of July) when the new cabinets come in. 11 days till surgery. I love working under the pressure.
    Have a great one Rob.

    Good Morning Rob:hattip:

Glad to see Stitch is feeling better again.
I've got an RCI trans skid still in the box. Think this week it gets painted and installed.

Looks like a real good time.
