You’re very welcome. I’ve got a lot of help from the ppl on TW so I’m just paying it forward.

Besides, Dustin promised me a 50% discount on a set of wheels if I covered all of FSW’s sizes!

Edit: but I should add that the ppl on TW have cost me a TON of money also!!!!! :)

This may be a dumb question that my smooth brain cant wrap around but how can offset change but backspacing be the same? Arent those two different ways to measure the same thing? Or is it just a rounding thing since backspacing is measured in inches and the offset is a difference of 10mm.

You are correct, for a given width rim, the two are related and one doesn’t change without the other. But for a 7” rim compared to an 8” rim, if the backspacing is the same, then the offsets are different.

But the first part of my comment probably just confirmed what you were thinking.

IMG_2754.jpg IMG_2753.jpg IMG_2752.jpg Got these rims and tires mounted and put on last saturday. Went with the 265/70 KO2's. Couldnt be happier with how they turned out. Really like how it seemed to give it a wider stance.

Are most just having the installer swap over the tire pressure sensors from stock tire or are many of you providing new sensors (they're fairly cheap)?

I purchased a new set from TPMS in black to match the rims but you can have them swapped from the old rims... it was about 100.00 for a new set in black. Not gonna lie. I didnt really look around for cheaper sets. Im sure some on here have and can help you find a quality cheaper set...

So I get that but the rim Im looking at (the 2021 Pro rim) are all 17x8.5" but with the option of either 0mm offset or -10mm offset. So I get that the -10mm rim should make the tire stick out some but the backspacing is still listed as 4.5" regardless of the offset distance with the rim width being held constant between the two.

    :confused::confused:
Stumped. To the best of my knowledge, offset and backspacing are tied to each other by half the rim width and flange width.

That has to be a typo.
If the offset is different for the same width rim the back space cannot be the same.
Where are you seeing these specs?

I’ve always thought of backspacing as the old fashioned way of being sure a wheel can fit over a car’s suspension, brake caliper, etc. without hitting something. It’s the distance for the OUTSIDE of the wheel flange to the hub mounting surface.

Offset is just the distance from the wheel centerline to the hub mounting surface.

But the two are definitely related.

When I expand the wheel specs tab. It continues for the rest of them like that down the list.

Are these the 0mm offset or -10mm offset? Do you have any angle pix and pix front directly up front and from the rear?

Ya, that’s incorrect. Those backspace numbers cannot be the same. Specifically they should differ by .394 (roughly 3/8 of an inch). There’s no way to do the math on what the backspace should be for these sizes because it’s measured from the outside of the lip (wheel width is measured between the INSIDE of the lips) and the thickness of the lip isn’t known.

BUT maybe they’re doing some extreme rounding with their backspace number? There’s got to be SOME rounding going on because you can’t offset a hub flange by a metric number and end up with an even inch backspace number. Even if it’s a zero offset the backspace amount includes that pesty unknown lip thickness.

Does all of this makes sense? I THOUGHT it did in my mind but it could be the Wild Turkey American Honey making it sound legit!

    lol

Yeah I imagine it’s a rounding error but it was messing with my mind haha. Maybe the rep can chime in on Monday.
