A little something every chance we get.
It was actually out enough to make me not happy that the 70% chance of rain included only one sprinkle, and it was really mostly sunny, not partly cloudy. If it does that tomorrow and Sunday, I think we can get some floats in!

Dang! Are those new? My lime and orange trees were killed off in the Freeze* aka snowmegadon.. :-( sad too since my lime had about 20 limes on it at the time...

Yeah, they are new. Those little oranges I traded for with Alex never did anything. So, after snowmagedon, and what didn't come out of the greenhouse, I told the wife "I'm putting in an orchard! A mini-orchard!" She hated it until I was done.....

Unfortunately you will need to put those trees in the ground at some point, the root ball will continue to grow and crowd itself within those planters.

Actually, no..... if I am to trust Aggies.... from a container growing site I went over before getting started on this - because the wife was also convinced I would be trying to grow 20' trees and shade the pool!

"Every 3 - 4 years, trees will outgrow their containers. This is usually signaled by leaf shed or browning and twig dieback which is not related to drought stress. You have two choices: Move the tree to a larger pot, or lift the plant out, prune the roots and put it back in the same pot with some fresh potting mix. Remember, the ultimate size of the tree is directly related to the size of the container. If you want a larger tree, choose another container which is at least 25 percent larger than the original, repot the tree using new potting mix fortified with slow-release fertilizer pellets and water thoroughly. If you want to keep the plant in the same container and are happy with the size of your tree, lift it out of the pot, cut about a quarter of the roots or about 2 - 3 inches off, shake off the loose soil, and pot it with new potting soil as above. Prune at lease a third of the foliage off at the time of this root reduction."

Thanks. Nothing new. The Hibiscus and most other "shrubs" in pots get whacked every other spring or summer minimum, and they do fine. Pruning these top and bottom should be much the same.

    Morning Scott!

What's up Derek? back in Texas, or just stopping by?

I’ll be back down there in August. Figured I’d pop in to see how everyone is doing.

Probably just a few weeks then back to Maryland or maybe North Carolina. I’ll check if there’s a CnC while I’m down there. Depending on what happens from until November, I may move back to San Antonio next year. I definitely miss it. How’s everything going with you?

Still doing well. LBR not much changed since last year - ordered some shocks that won't be here for months still! Just getting back to the pre-covid life. C&C has started again in SA, but not in Austin. SA group managed two get togethers during the last year!
We actually had a house guest, so my wife is coming around - she avoided EVERYthing! Waiting for the rain to stop, so I can start enjoying summer heat and projects!
