Thanks @sparkystaco I totally forgot about your suggestion! These are really tempting!! Have you bought and used these without issue? If so, how long have you had them?

I haven't had these very long, and I live in L.A. (so they haven't been exposed to much weather other than sun), but so far I'm pretty happy with them. Very similar to OEM, but without as much extra "chrome" around the reflectors.

If you're into what my friend's wife calls "eye make-up" on your truck, they're not going to thrill you.

I disagree, I have had the Tacomabeast headlights and taillights for over 2 years, and performance-wise, MUCH BETTER than stock. Used the stock bulbs in the new housings (Ultra bight halogen reverse lights, however) and the difference was staggering + the looks were a plus for an 18 year old kid at the time, lol.

Not yet but they are on the to do list.

Everything that I've got from them has been top quality so far.

Do yourself a favor and stick with OEM. Aftermarket sucks for headlights.

BX built headlights are super good. Come with instructions to install and the light output is amazing

Umm what? TacomaBeast (aka well known shitty quality Spyder products) is a horrible downgrade over stock in every measurable metric. I don't know what you were running before, but most people state that even doing an HID conversion in the TacomaBest lights doesn't get them back to stock 2nd Gen performance, because the cheap china Spyder/TacomaBeast lights are that bad. And the 2nd Gens have phenomenal performing headlights, better than any other Gen by a significant margin. A basic stock wattage bulb upgrade in the 2nd Gen OEM assemblies nearly matches the highest performing 3rd Gen OEM LED assemblies. Spyder's poor quality Chinese projectors are lower in output than the Stock Osram H11 3rd gen projectors, which is the lowest on this chart, and far lower than 2nd Gen stock lights. Stating that a cheap poor quality Chinese projector somehow outperforms an highly engineered OEM quality phenomenal performing Toyota made in the USA reflector is a complete joke. It isn't even remotely close.

How do you know which is OEM and which is OEM “equivalent”? I’ve seen quite a few pair that say OEM but it’s eBay so you never know

If it doesn't have a Toyota part number, it's not OEM. If it's way cheaper than OEM, it's not. With headlights, you definitely get what you pay for.

thanks for the clarification, just a Q, so is OEM around 1500 for the headlights?

also if I already have the off road with the smaller DRL, will OEM TRD pro headlights be plug and play?

Not sure. I haven't priced them out lately. Sounds plausible though. Have you looked in the classifieds for a used set?

I just bought a set for my 2nd gen. They were about $425 for the pair.

What @ace96 said for pricing. One thing I have found when searching around is that shipping will vary wildly as well. It's probably best to find something as local as possible.
