    Formwork all stripped

Tomorrow we start on foundation damp proofing , installing foundation dimpled membrane and perforated PVC drain tile

Foundation drainage inspection booked for Monday and then we can backfill and infill foundation

With formwork removed you can now see cast-in styrofoam insulation for continuous insulation on heated slab edges

Nice chamfer detail on the piers where they meet the post bucket's. Those little extra details separate guys who work and guys who care about their work.

Those piers remind me of the fence/privacy screen you put up. the detail is amazing

The chamfer at top of concrete columns is pretty standard in my area . Code here calls for the concrete column to be at least 1" bigger in each direction than the wood post that will go on it so this is a common detail to finish the top of the concrete

Is that chamfer done with a specially shaped trowel, or a very skilled hand?

1"x1" wood 45 degree chamfer strip is nailed into the formwork before you pour the concrete

Anything you introduce into the formwork that will strip out later will create a void that doesn't fill with concrete so the finished wall will be a mirror image of whatever you have in the forms when you pour , so the little 1"x 1" chamfer strip at the top of the column formwork when removed leaves that 45 degree chamfer where the concrete could not go when we poured

    Makes sense.

I've seen that done with poured walls, to leave a brick step.

Nice! I was going to suggest a light or dark grey as white is difficult to keep clean, but didn't want to contradict if you'd already chosen something.

Removing carpet, prepping for laminate. 4 rooms, closets, living/dining area. About 1500 sqft. I swear to God the installers were paid by the staple.

Now that the bamboo floor is installed, it’s time to make more casing and baseboard...
I bought some #1- 1x8”x14’ pine. I rip that to 3” for casing and 4” for baseboard. I then run it through a router table with a 1/2” bead. That bead bit was hard to find, I ended up ordering it from Infinity cutting tools.
