'Evening fellers! I was busy getting some firewood and building a makeshift wood rack from pallets, overall it didn't turn out half bad. I used the Taco to pull the trailer with the wood, oddly it pulled the trailer filled with wood better than the time I stuffed the wood into the bed.

Met up with @dave5623 this morning for the KD Max tune. He’s friendly and has a great looking truck and made the process quick and easy. So far I’m pretty impressed with the tune. If feels like it’s the way the truck should be. More torque at the low end and gets up to speed pretty quick. Throttle response is great. No more delays while keeping the same speed. Its smooth when you put your foot back on the gas after letting up on it. Only got about 20 miles on there so far but tested different speeds and take offs. Pretty good so far and I think worth the price.

Did you have the original OVTune first or just go straight to the Max? Dave tuned mine a few months ago and I have been very pleased with it. Im thinking about doing the Max as well.

 

I went straight from stock/latest ECU to KD Max, so I can help much there. I’m not sure what I was really expecting since I though my truck drove pretty well but this is a huge improvement.
My real test will be Tuesday when I go to Philly and back for work.

 

Painted the chrome tailgate letters, using Rustoleum Colorshift Galaxy Blue. Looks kinda purple in the pics but better in person. Tough to really tell in these pics.

 

Had to order a new instrument cluster from the dealer. I'm not supposed to drive my truck because of the mileage being programed into the new cluster to match what I have. They added in 150 miles but I'm gonna need more then that for work.

So my question is, does anyone know if I can drive without the cluster hooked up? I'm not worried about speed or fuel level. Just wondering if it will affect tranny changing gears or anything. But I believe the speed sensor on trans go right to ecu. I know the wheel speed sensor go thru the cluster. Maybe my abs will activate. Idk?

Anyone have any experience or thoughts??
